Could this have been the decisive round ? After having lost the lead in dramatic fashion, Matej has regained it in the same way and established a lead of just over 50 with only 2 rounds left. This being achieved with the round's highest score of 154. Other high scores were by Scullion with 119, with Paul and Fez both getting 99 points. Tipping has become a bit of a lottery with having to work out which teams are just going through the motions and which are remaining professional to the end. It must be difficult playing at the end of the season with nothing at stake coupled with no noise and adrenalin coming from the crowd. As said before we now have only 2 rounds left and then this marathon is over and I can retire for what is left of the summer.​

Just one round left and Matej still leads by 50 points from Mark - will it prove to be decisive ? Will Andy be flushed with fatherly pride, or will he have to hide for a week ? Realistically Frenchie, Chris and Hackney also have a slim chance of stopping Matej and stopping Andy from hibernation, and such things can happen with this scoring system. Not much variation of scores in the last round, with Andy being the highest with 100. Hopefully the next round is not our last in the Premiership, and we have to get down to tipping Blackburn and Huddersfield next season - but what will be will be, and we will all still be here and healthy - nothing really matters compared to that.​

Final League Table

Our marathon has finally come to an end - I certainly didn't imagine that this would still be going in late July when it all started. Apologies for the lateness of this but I have been away in an area without internet for the last few days. In the end Matej and Mark both finished strongly and so the winner of the league for 2019/20 is:

1st place and champion

Chris 13 and Hackneyhornet also came up well into 4th and 5th. Many thanks to all who took part including Lawro from the BBC - and special thanks to Paul and Simon for sharing their grief with us and for contributing to what is now Brian's League. We now have a shorter than normal break before it all kicks off again and we have to get to grips with a whole new set of teams.
