She actually got 46. It was mostly guesswork on her part - being originally from Cologne she likes Kloppo and always thinks that Liverpool are going to win. She has been in both Liverpool and Manchester (actually lived near Old Trafford for a short time), associates Chelsea with the Royal Military Hospital (Chelsea Pensioners) where my dad was for so many years. Has only been inside one football stadium in her life - the Vic !

My wife has only ever been to the Vic, though quite a few times. She did go to the old Wembley on one occasion but that doesn't count as it was to see a hockey match.

Not the best week for me. Yet again the boys outshine me. And of course they remind me continually just how I’m doing. <doh>

What a dreadful day to get such a 'good' result. Fortunately I spent the w/e cycling in the Highlands with my son. No news for over a day. However, our grandson, resident in Hebden Bridge, is (of course) a Hornet (ever since seeing GD at Huddersfield) and is surrounded by plastic citeh fans. I felt for him yesteday.
Oh well, onward and upward guaranteed !
My experience of Hebdon Bridge was that they were Burnley fans in the main.

The only ground my wife has been in is Arsenals - To see Springsteen. I doubt if I will get Her to the Vic.

She went to a rugby international once at murrayfield but that does not count as they don't have proper goal posts and the groundsman can't draw the pitch markings correctly yet :emoticon-0116-evilg

It's hard having wives who don't understand our obsession Scully <doh> Mrs Cologne can't understand that a visit to a football stadium is like others going to a holy shrine.

I thought so too. The Todmorden folk are all Burnley fans, the Hebden bridge lot are bit flakier. Still he's become a hornet in a better place than when I first saw them (1959), although big Cliff made such a huge impression at my first game, that was it for me!

League Table

Unfortunately I am the bearer of bad news this week. Our guest from the BBC has found himself in poll position through the weeks highest score of 86. A weekend of scratching for points for most of us. In fact all together we only got 2 results correct - Zen managed to get Burnleys 1-0, and a few managed to get the result from Anfield correct - but elsewhere it was all very barren in terms of points. I have absolutely no idea where Lawro would place his joker (and feel that, if he is in there, he should have one) - for this reason I place his on Liverpool every week, because of him being an ex scouser. Needless to say he came up trumps with that on this occasion. There now follows a two week break because of the internationals.

Agonizingly close to the first Hornets win of the season. From us the only tippers to tip the hornets result correctly were Charlie and Akureyrar <applause> Highest scorers of the day were Brian with 119 and myself and Zen just scraping the 100 mark. Scully moves up into second - Mark Lawrenson had a little bit of a wobble but none of us were really able to capitalize on that. Frenchie is looking dangerous in 4th. Altogether a hundred points between the first 6 places. Lawro still has the Sheff Utd v Arsenal game in reserve (0-2) - so tomorrow we all become Blades fans for the night.

"Frenchie is looking dangerous in 4th." No, just plodding along cologne, hoping that others trip up before I do. :emoticon-0105-wink:

I suppose that judging by our present position, and having Flores as manager, a goalless draw at the Vic. yesterday wasn't so unpredictable - yet only Frenchie actually tipped in this way, and reeped the full divident as a result. This coincided with our expert from the BBC falling flat on his nose this week. The result being that Frenchie has stormed to the top (I did say he was looking dangerous last week) with a week's total of 146. Not much change anywhere else - as is normal two of those tippers who were just below me got over the hundred mark. Fez getting the week's second highest score of 118 with Charlie also topping the ton. The winning margin of the Abu Dhabi select team once more had a decisive influence - one goal either way can create havoc on here. We now look forward to the visit of Chelsea next week who have fallen into a false sense of security and are, therefore, ripe for the picking.

Thank you cologne. As I said last week I am neither dangerous, or at my age do I storm around. I think I should stay with my current vin as it seems to have a lucky influence. :emoticon-0111-blush

League Table

No changes amongst the top places this week though Scully managed to reduce Frenchie's lead a bit with the round's second highest score of 101. The highest of the round was my own score of 146 - this was thanks to the referee adding 12 minutes onto the game at Goodison which was hard luck on Brian with the joker and the unique score on 0-1 to Spurs. So large amounts of points can be won, or lost, in a couple of seconds. Just a reminder that we have a long weekend next round with Watford kicking off on the friday night at Norwich - don't want people who tip on saturday morning to be disadvantaged by this - so please tip early otherwise the Watford one may be discounted.
