I dont care if they leave but everyone should get to vote to leave the UK. You all should not be able to force Northern Ireland, Wales or Scotland to leave the EU.

It's UK vote, they get one too.

They are forced to stay due to your higher population, if their population votes to stay and they are still forced to leave then they should get a vote to leave you. Thats the concept of self determination.

That option is available to them in the future. They've a long way to go before Europe would want them without us bolstering them, and having a monetary system that others had confidence in.

People in Scotland will overwhelmingly vote to stay in the EU, so if Britain as a whole votes to leave, you can imagine how miffed they'll be. This on top of them repeatedly voting Labour almost 100% in the past, and SNP now, yet getting regular Conservative governments that no one in Scotland votes for.

So, if we leave, they leave us. I'd rather keep the UK in tact, though it's not the main issue here. You can see why the Scots get irritated.

Like most, I don't think the EU is a utopia. However, a Britain edging towards the hard-right of the Conservative party and UKIP is much worse to me.

Conversely, the SNP end up with about 60 seats in Parliament whilst UKIP with 3 times as many voresand the Green Party with twice as many get one seat so they have an influence out of all proportion to how many booted for them.

They voted to stay in the UK so it is what the UK decides that matters.

Out.

Enough is enough, we need our country back. By that I mean we need to be the ones in control of it.

This is not in the style of a UKIP type **** either.

Just because we do a good job of running our country (despite the ****s in charge), that's not justification for anyone with a pulse from Europe coming here, and yes, working, but then claiming benefits, either in work or family type ones. Even when they leave.

We need immigration. It's who we are. But it needs controlling.

The EU is corrupt. I doubt anyone voting to remain in can name the bloke in charge of it. Nor any of the judges who DO impose **** on us. Our economy will not collapse. Europe will not stop exporting to us, and we import more than we export. Our Security Services are the finest in the world FACT, the others will still look to us for decent gen. European army? GTF. Spineless ****s the lot of them with very few exceptions such as the Legion.

The scaremongering has been ****ing annoying. Neither side has spread themselves with any glory. Cameron and Corbyn are bigger ****s than Boris. I swear the Chancellor is actually undead. Farage might have his moment in the spotlight but ultimately he won't end up as an MP because he's also a ****.

Our public services are about to break, we get ****ed over by the French and Germans regularly. Cameron went for some changes, and got nowt. Empty promises. He reminds me of Chamberlain.

The ex PM, not Helen.

Our country is being swamped by Eastern Europeans and economic refugees. It needs to stop, and it will only get worse if we stay in. If we stay in the NHS will crumble and Cameron and his cronies will get their wish of selling it off.

My granddaughter is half Portuguese. I have a healthy mix of mates who are various races, some of which also think we should be out. I am not racist for wanting us out. Makes me genuinely angry when anyone suggests the Out lot are.

We're an island nation, we don't need the ****s on the continent, we're just fine on our own.

As an added bonus, we'd also shed ourselves of the Scotch ****s too. If nothing else, thats why you need to vote for out.

England OUT.

A good post, Happy. Agree with most of that.

Rules for the Hull Forum

I think we only really have the 3 we all agreed on when we first came over from the BBC 606 site.

1) We don't talk about politics unless it's related to the club/football - ie the Allams vs the Council over the stadium.

2) We don't talk about religion.

3) We don't act like arses with each other or be otherwise offensive.

NB: These are just the rules for this section of the site. You're free to post in any section of the site, but bear in mind other sections may have different rules and when you are there you will be expected to follow them.

So why bother with rules!!!

You know it won't end well.

No, you cant vote for self determination to leave the EU and then tell another set of people that they dont have the right to self determination because you tell them you dont want them to leave. If the English want to leave the EU but Scotland wants to stay then they should have that option to leave you after the vote.

I'm voting leave. Never in doubt. Cameron is sweating it because it's a lot closer to an exit vote than he had anticipated. Hence a lot of hastily arranged conferences.

Without a doubt another referendum on Scottish independence will follow hot on the heels of Brexit, and they won't be scared into staying this time.

The rules have always had a degree of flexibility and on occasions, there are topics that are too important to ignore, and that would like as not crop up in a variety of threads. In my opinion, it's better that we have a thread for the discussion, so the rest of the board can carry on as normal.

As ever, it's the users not the mods that run the board, so I'll go with the consensus, but I'd rather that debate didn't disrupt this thread..

Thats certainly what our news is saying but I havent looked into it enough to formulate my own opinion.

Its hard to say what I would do because simply I am not you. Any opinion I have will be based entirely of a different set of life experiences and environment than you all experienced.

I couldnt give a **** so long as you all dont complain if Scotland and Northern Ireland get to vote to leave the UK if you all leave the EU. Self determination works both ways after all.

And you give a **** if we do? Thanks for your colonial lesson in democracy. <ok>

I'm out.

I lived in Europe for 14 years, neither I, nor my wife, are Europeans.
