As you lot know I live in the Middle East, but follow all things British on the news, i'm (for someone who lives abroad) quite a patriotic bloke. But watching the news unfold today, looks like our country is in melt down. How the hell did we get into this mess. What is worrying to me, is how will it be resolved? how can a county who was split right down the middle at the referendum become united behind one policy...not going to happen. The PM's role in the UK is now a poison chalice. Good luck to who ever succeeds May...they will need it

I can honestly see people ending up fighting on the streets over this.. I'm by no means a fan of May, but believe she had an impossible job from the word go..

Not a May fan , but sympathise with her impossible task.
Whatever the effects of “good deal” “bad deal” or “ no deal” , those effects ,if bad, will be worsened by the the lack of nationwide unity- and the politicians are having a big role in that. They tell us ( like in times of the crash and cuts and austerity) that we have to pull together and work hard to get the country strong. When we look to them to work hard with what we’ve got (will have) , they are quitting and contributing to the potential mess . I hope that not one quitter tries to continue in politics expecting people to vote for and support them.

Im living in Europe for 20 years now, but i see Junker and his mob trying to screw us at every opportunity. It has been said a lot of times they need us more than we need them, and these European court rules which stop us sending back criminals rapists and benefit cheats, just boils my piss.Out means out not one foot in and 40 billion for the trouble bollocks to that they have a 40 billion shorts fall because of the MEPs gravy train and they want us to bail them out, **** em.

That's kind of how I see it. We aren't rich, but we are funding the development of other countries. West Germany got a nice new East Germany out of European funding, and then unified,

I think they've been having us over for years. It will get worse before it gets better, but how much worse can it really get?

we did fine with the commonwealth free trade, we joined a common market, we did not agree to being told by Junker and his mob, what we can and cant do. I read the home papers regularly, 4 out of 5 crimes are committed are by none British born, yet we cannot repatriate them, Europe demand our fishing water the Netherlands use electronic nets which stun and kill all fish including protected species, and fry that cannot grow to repopulate. Spanish use factory ships that anchor just outside our territorial waters and collect all fish from the small trawlers, this breaks the agreement of trust, but they are not bothered as they have plucked the Med nearly dry, ever heard about the Iceland fishing wars they stopped the same type of thing. most of the world manage ok without the EU, and their restrictive practices, Netherlands voted against Ukraine being allowed in but were made to keep voting until they got sick of it and said ok. Have you any idea how many will want to come to Britain, do you know how many billions it will take to get there infrastructure, and standard of living up to EU standards. EU is a minefield we are better out.

Being an humble working bloke all my life, and holding a form of ‘christian democratic socialist’ politcal and philosofical leaning I know that the most consistant support and protection for the likes of me have NOT come from the semi-fascist Tory party. Government aftet government gave had to adopt snd follow European rules especially pn health and personal human rights. Rights that these chinless tw:ts will soon nullify as soon as the UK is out. All this patriotic sh:tvmeans nothing to joe bloggs - just sound bites and lust for personal power and to ultimately crap on the man in the street. Anyway we are on our way out thats it but I truly fear for my grandbairns future.

Must just comment on one phrase on this site - don’t want to prolong this debate because all are entitled to their own views and should be listened to with respect but . . . ‘4 out of 5 crimes are commited by non-british born. . . . ‘ is just the worst bit of fake news tripe that even Trump or the Daily Fail would not dare print. Depressing.

It's the same over here. They keep reporting gang crime perpetrated by young African immigrants.

No **** has any ****ing clue what the press are on about. Utter bollocks at best.

    People buy it though.

I'm not remotely political but it seems to me that if May's proposal goes through then we'll have paid lip service to the idea of a Brexit while still being tied down to the same old ****e we were before, with a generous sprinkling of damaged relations on top.

If we're going to do it then do it. And we should do it because that's what people voted for.

Seems to me, the reality of leaving is much more complicated than anybody thought and the deal that she's come up with is about the only realistic thing. Except it's not good enough for the Brexit Brunch cos we've not really left and it's not good enough for the remainers cos we're not really in it. Whoever had the job of sorting the whole mess out was screwed no matter what they did.

Aye it's a mess alright I don't envy any of them trying to sort it out. Some will be trying to do that and others will be seeing it as nothing more than an opportunity to seize power.

I'm not well enough educated on the subject to speak on it, all I know is that in theory in a democracy if the people vote for something the powers that be should follow it through if they like it or not.

You're right, they should follow through on it. My knowledge of it is fairly limited too, but from what I've seen and heard it seems like it's nearly impossible to get the deal that the Brexiteers want. I don't think there should have been a referendum in the first place to be honest

I appreciate where you are coming from but your talking bollocks mate, Netherlands private health care 280 EUR per month basic for you and your lass, extra for glasses, extra for teeth, then you pay the first 380 of any claim, every time you see a doctor you pay till they get the 380. if you have diabetes its not covered, if you need a medicine not on the list you pay, why do you think they head to Britain to get it free. You wont see any figures on that they dare not, Human Rights loads of bollocks, where is the human rights for the victims of crimes committed against them, the courts sentencing because of that clause is pathetic that's why the crime rate now is phenomenal, there is no punishment to fit the crime, i could go on but you have to live i Junkers Europe to understand what he has done . I now live in Germany A FULL RETIREMENT PENSION HERE FOR A WORKING CLASS MAN IS 500 A MONTH please check it out to will see i am correct.
