Cheers mate, your fans have taken his departure well it seems. Better than ours would anyway.

Good luck to you for the rest of the seaosn.

Decent club, fans, ground and chairmen.

We Posh fans have known for a long time that George would be leaving by the end of this season at the latest,
we are just grateful that we were able to hold on to him for so long.

Seeing Cardiff and Hull 1 and 2 at the top of the table reminds me of the 'Great Escape' in 98 and how the old 3rd Div table looked -

21 Cardiff City 46 5 13 5 27 22 4 10 9 21 30 48 52 –4 50
22 Hull City 46 10 6 7 36 32 1 2 20 20 51 56 83 –27 41
23 Brighton 46 3 10 10 21 34 3 7 13 17 32 38 66 –28 35
24 Doncaster 46 3 3 17 14 48 1 5 17 16 65 30 113 –83 20

How times have changed!

That brings back very painful memories Pete!

Posh Pete,

The 'Great Escape' season was actually the following year 1998-99

During 97/98 we were simply ****e and only stayed in the league cos Donny and Brighton were even worse then us.
41 pts these days would mean certain relegation into the Conference.

The 2 week International Shutdown period does not count in the 93 days. So Boyd can play if needed.

But we wont need the play offs imo.

They count unless he gets recalled, or we've agreed seperate loans to cover different periods from the off. Either way, the start of the international break is definitely counting as he has to stay for the first 28 days regardless.

If the loan officially starts on Saturday then if there's no break in the loan he'd not be eligible to play in any P/O Final. If it's based on time his loan would have to end at midday on the day, and if it's based on date then that would be day 94.

As for training, you can train with who ever you want and when ever you want providing your parent club is happy with it so he can train with us before he officially joins.

I checked the rules earlier and the wording is a little odd, something about the 93 days being inclusive of the start and finish days, so it's possible that this Saturday to the 27th might qualify as 93 days(even though it's actually 94 days).

If it's inclusive of the start and finish days then it means they would both count as part of the 93 days, and then be 94. I suspect it's worded that way to avoid someone signing a player at say 5pm (that noon was for 3 o'clock kickoffs) ahead of a 7:45pm kick off and then playing in a 3pm kickoff on the 94th date and saying he was only there for 93 days because the game finished before 5pm.

I bloody hope we get automatic promotion as i'm off to the champions league final!

Bad eyesight eh Forest?

Good luck to George at Hull hope to see more of this.

Boyd's a quality player. He's a bit more direct than some of our other attacking players, he's got 8 assists this season and 7 goals I believe which is a better overall total than anyone in our team. Looking at his performance the other night he's got a bit of physicality and pace about him as well as being talented on the ball. That's a great combination to have.

I haven't been this excited about a signing since Quinn and Bullard before that, hope it turns out more like the former...

Ive been told that Boyd would be ok for the play offs/final if it came to that. The International Break period does have an impact. I am not even thinking play offs anymore. Party from 3pm saturday 4th may.!!!

Bumpety bump just for plt,s selective amnesia

Yep.

You posted this on 17th February (Sunday) saying he was available for Tuesday (19th).

He signed on the 21st and made his debut on the 23rd against Bolton.

He was linked with us well before that Here's a forum from the 3rd Feb talking about him and in fact BCC said on here he might sign straight after the Jan window closed.

So you didn't link him with us before anyone else, all you did was say he was signing, which everyone already knew and the only bit you posted which wasn't common knowledge, the bit about him signing by Tuesday, was wrong.
