We sold out the vast majority of away games.

No it doesnt, he can still sign and be included in the squad unless the team have 25 over 21s on the book

Yes free agents are allowed to move as long as they haven't played for another club in that window and the club doesn't have more than 24 over 21 players on the books.

Sharp. We would lose out on the 24 over 21 likely.............
Don't get me wrong, the guy has footballing pedigree but he was shifted pretty damn quick by Chelsea.
We don't need any more players with issues greater than the Club's interests

A brilliant signing - he has played for a top 4 team in the CL for the past four years and they paid 16million for him - so he cant be bad!

Amazing to think we are attracting this kind of player now!

Also, as a side point - Cisee said on the London callin that he played as a lone striker for most of his career and he had to learn to play alongside someone else - so he can play on his own up front.

Its the policy of the board not to discuss or disclose anything re transfers so I wouldn't be surprised if the official announcement is the first time we hear about it. Certainly doesn't signal a panic buy to me. The fact that this deal was concluded within a day tells me it's been in the pipeline for a while.

We would, DJ, Hulse, JB count as part of the over 21s so we cant name 24 and get a free agent in.
His contract was not renewed, hardly a shafting.

Its not a panic buy, it shored up our 2nd biggest need, a panic buy would be getting a CB on deadline day and being no better than what we already have. Warnock was the master of the panic buy in Barton, SWP and Puncheon.

Seems the policy has changed as they are opening talking about Swapping Barton with Mbia.
