He played well against Ribery in the Champion's League Final and can do a turn at centre-back. It seems most of the players that MH has signed have a bit of versatility about them which may be with one eye on the players who go to the ACON...

I reckon CB is a much bigger priority than RB.

That's where m'bia would come in if we get him, can play cb and cm. With bosingwa at right back it means we'll have nedum Anton Ryan and Clint as our cb's. I think it was injuries anthem resulting lack of match fitness that was his problem last year. One things for sure, it shows we're going to be an attacking team next year, playing without fear. Plenty of we'll score more than you games as opposed to holding out for a 0-0. Exciting times...

We have one recognised RB in the squad (and he's not even ours) and we're debating whether we want to sign a dual UCL winning < 30 year old Portuguese international on a free transfer? Times have changed....

This guy is a decent prem player and could be a very shrewd signing by us. Previously signed for 17mil and 24 intl caps and played for a top four club over the last 4 years, can't be that bad.

Gives us options at RB and also chance to play Onuha at CB.

won't play any part tomorrow.

Think of Mbia more as a DCM which we need too, than CB, and Onouha seems a much better RB than CB to me. I think we still need a top quality specialist CB to play with Clint, even if we have Anton and Nelson as back up, and Bosingwa and Mbia who can play there.

How do you remove the smell of Chelski from him when he gets here ?

Not a bad signing IMO.
