We were awful against Leeds they totally outplayed us.

....... played well on TV against Leeds at SMS though.

Bloody hell that was so long ago now it seems I had forgotten!

Still have that stored on my sky box might watch it later and just think to myself what I was thinkin on that first day.
"we should be ok at staying up" <laugh>

Best we can hope for is a draw? We are talking about a game of football here, right. We are top of the form table, surely? I am not saying that it will be easy or that we will definitely win, but have a look at our last away results. I see no justification for such pessimism. Unless its all reverse pyschology?

I like this post! It hits the nail on the head.Let's have some confidence, not too much but just enough to know that it is possible to get a win! We are top of the league for a reason, let them worry about us.The worse case scenario on Saturday is we sit 5 points above third,if we win we could be as much as 9 points clear! that would be amazing and it's definitely possible.COYR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What would be a good outcome this weekend? Not neccessarily what would be a great outcome (I think that would have to be a Saints win, and a draw between West Ham and reading), just what would be acceptable. What would make me say "Yep, i'll take that weekend"?

I think it would have to have to be a draw away to Blackpool, and a Reading win. Our unbeaten run continues - and in arguably our hardest remaining game - and we pull a further point clear of 3rd place. Think I would take that.

As for the game, I'm not sure that I'd be sticking with De Ridder for this. Not a fan of starting him away from home. If Lee is back, I'd ideally like us to be really bold and brave, and play 4-3-3:

Davis
Richardson Fonte Hooiveld Fox
Cork Morgan Lallana
Lambert Sharp Lee

Blackpool themselves basically play a 4-3-3 system (albeit it wouldn't be as narrow as that XI), so it really would lead to an end to end game, and to be honest I think our players are better than theirs. But I don't think Adkins will be that bold, and I wouldn't blame him in the slightest. And in that case, I think I'd start Puncheon on the right in the usual 4-4-2.

I think the good thing for us is that Blackpool need a result and therefore will have to attack and not get eleven bodies behind the balll. Be very surprised if we don't get a few chances and I'd back us to take a couple of them. COYR!

Just watched video of NA and of players training at SMS (presumably because of work at Staplewood).

1. Nigel has a new cream jacket of which he is proud
2. Lambert and Richardson training (though of course no comment from Nige).
3. No sign of Tadanari (how did that little injury flare up so much).
4. Fonte smoothing Schneiderlin's thigh (down lovely Mrs Godder:emoticon-0115-inlov).
5. Fonte getting stick about no goals and wants to take any penalty that happens in last game.

I suspect that Richardson and Lambert will be fit, even though NA wouldn't confirm it. Taddy Lee could have just been hidden in background, but suspect his injury is being troublesome....how fed up he must be. COYR.

Hooiveld has been under the weather hasn't he? Perhaps he won't play? Hopefully he does but good backup in Martin if he misses out altogether

Jos would be a big loss against Blackpool. They are the only club to have scored in all their 15 Championship matches of 2012, that said they have also completed 14 without keeping a clean sheet.

It's boud to be a goalless draw!

He'll have no chance if Rickie is on the pitch - he'll want as many goals as possible.

OK, the replies are nearing 100, so shall I kick off the match thread here..? ;)

Looking forward to the game and a Saints win. No, I'm not confident of it, and it won't be a disaster if we come away from Bloomfield Road with nothing. But if we do the right things well, and manage to keep Kevin Philips quiet, I think we'll win. Their defence is not the tightest and our attack is the best in this league, so if anyone can score it should be us. Besides, Rickie still has a wee score to settle with the club that let him go. I wonder how much he'll make them pay..?

Not to mention Matt Phillips - he caused us all sorts of trouble at SMS.
