I'd spend more time ****ing in toilet cubicles if it wasn't for this place. Either way no work gets done and I go a little bit more blind each day.

Because you mentioned that I try having no money for electricity? My main point was that you're not in poverty, your life doesn't sound so bad to me.

The prestige that comes with wealth is a zero-sum game and people are only happy if they are perceived to be wealthier than their neighbours (and people who are poorer than their neighbours are pissed off), if we gave every person in Britain a yacht tomorrow we'd have the Guardian bitching that 1/5th people are able to afford bigger yachts. So the process of getting richer is an arms race - having bigger and bigger houses, with flasher and flasher cars will lead to your neighbours doing the same, or being angry at their lack of good luck in not being able to do the same. The happiness derived from money is therefore subject to diminishing returns.

The welfare state helps propel this ridiculous keeping-up-with-the-Jones culture by moving relative poverty away from food and housing, to designer clothes and Sky TV. Who cares if you don't have Sky TV if you are perfectly healthy and have good wits about you?

Move the money from unnecessary benefits (such as working family tax credits etc) to services that actually make people happy.

1- MD is not on benefits, as he repeatedly told you. He has 'other' means of income <maleprostitute>

2- If you honestly think that then you're an idiot

3- Yep, you definitely are an idiot

I'd imagine that working family tax credits actually make the recipients very happy. Good luck to them.

    1. I never mentioned benefits.

2-3. Do you agree or disagree that in Britain the average working class person's standard of living is greater than that of the upper-middle class of 1913? (cars, health, sky, education, Argos catalogue full of 10,000 things everyone can afford, and are useless ****e).

Maybe not if their child was born with cerebral palsy because their missus was stuck giving birth on a trolley for 12 hours due to a lack of hospital beds and doctors.

All this whinging and griping about benefits distracts the public from the serious business of erecting a guillotine in Threadneedle Street. Decapitating a few bankers would do more for the national exchequer than depriving the unemployed of their chicken nuggets, and would be a **** sake more justified.

So because of paying out benefits the NHS is cutting back on staff and beds? Right oh.

    Obviously Mick's right about this.

If we save a few hundred million by making people live on the borderline, Davie and Gideon will make sure that money is spent on the NHS and education.

Meanwhile, the health of the poor will deteriorate due to the swingeing benefit cuts leading to increased pressure on the NHS and the budget will have to go up to meet demand. And where is that money going to come from? Further cuts in benefits?

Is that what you mean Mick?

I only read as far as "You're not in poverty"

Who the **** said I was mick? So because I'm not in poverty means I shouldn't give a **** about those that are?

We're no all like you mick.

1- So why are you going on about MD's lifestyle then?

2-3 No, because that's a bullshit comparison. Why stop at 1913? We're living better now than we ever have, so let's take it away.

Why should poor people deserve any more than the basics in life?

Just because you knew a few dodgy people in Belfast doesn't mean every **** in the UK has designer shoes and Sky. The weekly JSA payments to someone on benefits is less than Sky costs for a month, who in the **** has Sky?

As a society we should look towards putting everyone on a more even level, rather than let people get so rich that even their great-great grandchildren will be rich and won't have to work. I can't see why you've got so much hatred towards a small section of society, when they're not the cause of the financial crisis and are those that suffer the most already.

But keep on avoiding as much tax as possible though, it really backs up what you believe in <doh>

No it's all the 'foreigns' coming over here and stealing our beds, that's why the Tories are going to randomly start charging £200 to people wanting a visa <doh>

It could yes, I'd strip the entire government system right back, but the 207bn for social care vs 131bn Health and 90bn Education is a big target and we were on the subject of benefits.
