I think it's fair to say that anyone who is comfortably off and enjoys holidays, big TVs etc whilst on the Bru has some other form of income. You can't really blame them for doing it and you can't really blame the people who are supposed to investigate.

I won't lose any sleep over it.

I would assume, by this time in the thread, the cap/hat jokes have all been done?

    Does it tho?

I dont agree with the corporations ****in the tax system over, however, they do create jobs etc. If they paid the tax they owed, the national debt would be wiped out.

But some **** claiming as much as they can without contributing anything worthwhile is not an insignificant issue.

How do you afford to move if you have no money and no job?

    Hitchhike to Sydney?

How do you afford to live/get a place?

Just because it worked out for you doesn't mean it's the answer to everyone's problem.

It's not abuse of the system that's disgusting it's the way the government and mass media portray these issues.

Tax avoidance is seen as nothing more than corporate blurring of the rules, whereas anyone who cheats the benefit system is "scum"

It's another Tory war on the Working Class while they line their pockets from big business. Focus the issue of some ill educated, lower income types to keep your rich pals in the shade.

McDonalds and the like are always advertising. Why not tell those on JSA that they take the jobs or lose their benefits?

I agree with your points on tax avoidance... it's wrong and needs to be addressed.

However, so does the abuse of the benefits system.

I was in MacDonalds the other day and the lassie behind the counter said to me "Sorry about the wait".

I said "No worries Hen, I don't care how fat you are"

    I'm here all week folks.

There's a lot of truth in that.

Tax rules could be made much simpler thus closing many or most loopholes. But they aren't. For the very same reason they were created that way in the first place - the rules as they are benefit the high earners.

But HMRC do not like "the little man" using those rules. IR35, for example. Same rules as used by the high rollers but they couldn't stomach IT contractors using them. And went after them by trying to further bend and blur their own rules.

Save your benefits for a few weeks for an easyjet and gumtree a flat share?

I was only giving you my example as you made the point that I had a job before the recession, when I lost my job in the middle of the recession.

Translation - Don't buy food, its irrelevant. Electricity? irrelevant. Gas? irrelevant.

If you can survive a few weeks without these things moving away should be a piece of piss.
