https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/uks-best-fish-chip-shops-13903124 How dare they – you mean the Grosvenor didn’t win!!! No mention of the Chip Inn either!! Edit - Going to try these tonight, as they have a caravan outside the Artichoke on a Friday - https://www.eveningnews24.co.uk/news/bucket-list-loaded-fries-stall-opens-in-norwich-1-5688347ing t
It's not that great anyway. So many good British ales the Japs can have a bang average one if they want. Bah! P.s. the chip inn was robbed!
Nothing wrong with the Cask ESB sold at my sons local but as a generality do the Brits now actually own anything?
Wrong I'm afraid. Was sold to Bulmers who were bought out by Courage who were bought by S&N who were bought by Carlsburg/Heineken. How much did the City make out of that lot!!! Give them another 10 years and the Chip Inn will be in the FTSE 100!!!!
I went out with a couple of mates (lager louts!!!?) last night and took them to the Plasterer's Arms - they were VERY impressed!!! They had never been there before!!!
I'm going to Cosmo after the game on Sunday and heard good things about it . Anyone been ? https://www.cosmo-restaurants.co.uk/restaurants/norwich
Yes, I went there Xmas 2017 about 10 of us and it's quite good, but beers are quite expensive, though quite a good selection for lager drinkers!!
£8.50 for an all you can eat lunch sounds superb. I've been told (repeatedly) I should try the place but I never think of it when I'm in the city, opting for The House Thai and their 2 course lunch instead very often. Look forward to your observations after our emphatic...nay, thumping win on Sunday.
I quite like the place, there is so much variety that it's near impossible not to find something you like. Don't forget the fresh cooking stations too, they sometimes have squid and prawns on and can do a fair variety. I haven't been to the Norwich one on a Sunday, but the Derby one does Bacon and Sunday roast, I love a bit of bacon one my chinese starter selection! Bah!
No beer for me, alas, and defo no chips. But in celebration of what turned out to be an emphatic, if hard-fought win over our languishing country cousins, I'm off to Cromer White Horse for a glass of merlot and a superb £5.95 (smaller size) roast beef lunch, avec yorky, at least 5 different veg and cauliflower cheese. Horseradish by Colmans, which matches the replica shirt I'm currently wearing
What's in beer that's not in merlot? I of course recognise the difference but I thought it was the alcohol
It's the volume of liquid. Being on haemodialysis means I barely pee so am on a fluid restricted diet of (approx) one litre a day, that's tea, coffee, alcohol, ice cream gravy, etc etc. Might have to make room for a celebratory nightcap of a dram of Glayva tonight though
Ah yes that makes sense,, but if it's a very good Merlot it may be difficult to stop at just the one <hic>
That's expensive for what it is. Should of gone to the Plasterer's Arms - 2 proper 12" pizza and a big plate of chips for £18!!! And a FANTASTIC selection of both real ales/craft beers. #rudenotto
The carvery section didn't have roast potatoes the Chinese food was absolutely nothing like you get in China , the Sushi had some made from crab sticks . There was a huge choice but not none of it was any good. Carlsberg Guinness and San Miguel on draft , I won't be going back any time soon.
