So just found out last night that Wetherspoon’s pubs are NO longer selling bottles of Oakham Green Devil. They were charging £2.99 for 500ml and the King’s Arms had it on draught at £4.30 for 568ml. #devastated
Speaking of hot but not that hot, Morrison's volcanic Vindaloo was hot but not that hot but now they're trying to up their game! Anyone going to try the fiery phal? Oh yes! Bah!
Man-sized chips...at £6.95 a pop http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/the-bucket-list-open-cromer-and-norwich-1-5645890
I seem to recall that "Hot Chip" had a massive following for a while, but didn't last very long. Let's hope this one fares better
Holy fire, take a gander at the ones towards the bottom of this liszt!! please log in to view this image
Where's that pub - looks a bit like the King's Head on Magdalen Street?? Don't forget - 41st Norwich Beer Festival starts tonight and I'll be working in the 'World Beers' Marquee each evening, other than tomorrow evening!!
Not tried either yet. But they now have the Vindaloo for sale more, it was hard to find when first released. I'm tempted to try it tomorrow night. I've not seen the Phal in Morrisons yet. Hopefully after the initial release and sell outs, they will be more available like the Vinda.
My trouble is that Morrisons is a bit out the way for me and it means I literally would be going for the curry alone. Twice with the Vindaloo that ended in failure before finally getting one, when we popped in on the off chance whilst in the area for american golf. I might wait a while too, for when the initial furoure has calmed down Bah!
I chickened out. Getting the train to take the gf shopping, and then having a meal out, and train back. I didn't want all of that with the worry of chilly guts. Next weekend, I have no plans, so can write a weekend off if I need to. Will probably try it next Friday.
Sod the little crappy chocolates here's the new best thing http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/adnams-beer-advent-calendar-christmas-2018-1-5753358 about the festive season. Bah!
Anyone tried Motherchip, based at the Fat Cat on Sprowston Rd? They do a range of (exotic) toppings - a few pints, live music and a big bowl of twice-fried chips sounds like a decent Sunday afternoon to me And to think when I lived and worked in the (now defunct) Branford Arms, the Fat Cat was the most insipid, uninspired Whitbread pub, the Wherry - you wouldn't use it unless desperate for a pint of Trophy or Tankard.
