Great afternoon out at the Lacons' Brewery in Gt Yarmouth with free beer on tap. They've really expanded in the last few years and I like most of their ales.
Just had my first ever can on Ghost Ship, because JMF seems to be forever drinking it. A very fruity taste that seemed to get better the more, of the ONE can, I drank. Saw a 5 litre dispenser in Tescos, will be sending one back to the Philippines in my next cargo box.
I don't drink much proper beer but that is a nice drop. Must be ice cold though for me . Most Adnams pubs do cracking food too .
If you like Oakham ales, you HAVE to visit here - http://www.thebrewery-tap.com/ Citra this month is only £3 a pint - it could be a LONG walk back to my B&B.
Strewth, at this rate, we'll have to rename this thread 'the chips thread' - as there'll be no beer left to include http://www.eveningnews24.co.uk/news/lease-will-not-be-renewed-at-brickmakers-norwich-1-5705104
Nah, we'll still have plenty of decent pubs Plasterer's Arms Ribs King's Head Wig and Pen Fat Cat trilogy Alex Red Lion (multiple) Artichoke reopening The Brickies as a pub is DIRE, but popular music venue.
The Lee Vasey big band on a Sunday lunch is well worth a visit Still sad to see 3 closing though, especially if you live in the golden triangle and count the York or the Garden House as your local.
You OBVIOUSLY haven't been in either lately - the Garden House has MASSIVE potential, but very badly run. Too many punters around there prefer the proliration of Gastropubs in the area. Thank Goodness for the Alex. Eaton Cottage and the Beehive.
Thanks for that Cromer. I tried it when I was in their Brewery Tap last week - not impressed. #unusual Edit - Good Grief!!! EI is closing another 2 Norwich pubs- Gibraltar Gardens and the Woodman. Thank goodness that we'll still have some decent pubs left. I heard on the Grapevine that the Brickies has already been bought by Tesco and I imagine it will become a 'Jacks' to rival the Aldi a few hundred yards down the road.
Not in Sunny Hunny - the White Horse in Thornham (not cheap), Jolly Sailors Brancaster - http://www.jollysailorsbrancaster.co.uk/ If you just want fish and chips ( like the small chippy in Heacham - not the one that does Pia etc - https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place...0x72fab94b0fd7be15!8m2!3d52.910049!4d0.495814 Good Luck
The Old Bank in Snettisham if you can get in... Just came out top in 100 best places to eat in UK....
Yes still going and a proper pub too.. . Hasn't been turned into a restaurant like most on the n. Norfolk coast
