I don't like Harry Potter at all, but isn't Rowling extremely generous to charities with her money? If she is doing this for money it wouldn't surprise me if she gave a large chunk of it away

So... My friend just got his first car... A Triumph Dolomite Sprint from 1979.

He's the fourth owner and it's got 60,000 on the clock.

Thoughts? (Is it going to live up to its Leyland rep and break down a lot?"

My eldest brother is a retired mechanical engineer and a little of his extensive knowledge rubbed off on me as I was growing up, so I can tell you with reasonable certainty that it's the gearbox which is a Triumph Cars problem. Clunky, slow, whiny, and more prone to failure than the rest of the car. The engine is considered to be exceptionally good for that era, with excellent performance. 2 litre, DOHC and 16V. Almost unheard of in a British mass production car. Amazing mileage for 1979. Hope it's genuine. Either garaged most of its life, or off the road and garaged most of its life. Rust is the main killer. That and bad original build quality. Mind you, it was a cracking looker, for that era too. :)

Bit of trivia: SAAB took the engine the Dolomite one is based on and developed it into the startlingly rapid Turbo, of which I was once a proud owner. Funnily enough, the weakest point of a SAAB, based on that engine, is the gearbox, but they are unrelated.

On the bright side, he'll be one of a very select group with one.

On the down side, he'll be one of a very select group because most of the others have ceased working, as his likely will.
