The official Off-Topic Chat Thread now known as "Beefy's Corner".

Firstly, the normal rules of the site apply. You cannot start a discussion about contentious issues, Politics, Religion, or show Porn, etc... The flip side of this arrangement is that there will be a much stricter enforcement of the "no going off topic" rule which has always been the case anyway, on the other threads.

Secondly, the normal rules of the Saints board will apply, (except that you can go off-topic obviously). This is not going to become a "private GC Lite." Personal insults will not be tolerated, and neither will goading someone to draw them out. The whole tone of this board has suffered in the past as differing views have been aired and there have been far too many angry exchanges. Vitriolic exchanges are not welcome and will be dealt with as appropriate. If you have fallen out with a poster put him on your ignore list and don't rise to the bait!
If you see content which is not appropriate, please send the mods a PM rather than fronting up the poster and let us deal with it to save a bun-fight. Lastly, if a thread is closed or deleted by one of the Mods, and you have some good reason that it should reopen, then send us a PM with your reasons. Simply re-posting the same thread again to be confrontational would be considered very provocative and would probably lead to action being taken.

It would seem that large numbers of posts and subjects causes problems for mobile phone users to access this site. So from time to time it will be necessary to close the threads down and start a new one.

I'll be truthful, Dan. I noticed that the old Beefy thread had gone over a 1000 posts last night, and I had a quick look to see who was leading. Of course, it was Beefy again, but only by 7 posts from me. I was slightly tempted to invent 8 topics of conversation or comments and then close the thread. Good job it was way past time to climb the wooden hill. ;)

Of course I would never do that. Well, not so obviously anyway. <laugh>

Not liking heights I think i'll pass on it.

I used to be fine with heights until I did a bungee jump. My brain kind of switched off when I did it and I absolutely hated it. Now every time I go near a high edge, I think my subconscious decides "Oh, he's going to do that f'ing stupid thing and jump again. We might not make it this time. I'll scare the living **** out of him to get him away".

This thread helps he pass my time at work. :p

With that the ride, I would be ****ting myself before it started but by the end of the ride I would be buzzing and pumped on adrenalin and wanting to go straight back on. I love rollercoasters and I really want to go to an American theme park - the rides are so much bigger and better than here.

Do you remember the dam that James Bond bungees off at the start of Goldeneye? I had to actually crawl off that I was so terrified!

Same. I'd probably **** myself on the ride but I'd still go on it.

Can't stand heights, specially glass floors. Went on Oblivion once and that made me nearly collapse.

The glass bottomed viewing point which hangs over the Grand Canyon would be your favourite place on Earth then? ;)

I would suggest that anyone who likes to do a bit of proper thrill seeking ought to get a motorbike. Doubters may say that you are never in danger when on thrill seeking rides [yes, I agree, under their proper function], unlike riding a motorcycle, where you can really come to harm with all those moving metal chicanes doing their darnedest to have you maimed or killed. And I agree with that too. There are a couple of differences though. 1] You are handing over control of your safety [granted they are relatively safe] instead of having 90% of that control in your own hands, and 2] You can ride the motorbike every day. In summary, my contention is that you won't hanker after one of those thrill seeking rides after owning and riding a motorcycle. A big, fast one helps too.

There's no way I'd do it. I'm a coward with rides and stuff, I don't experience the adrenaline, I just want to cry.

Like the Haunted house lift ride in Disney World. That has a glass/plastic floor felt like I was going to throw up. Biggest coaster ride I have been on is The Hulk which was the fastest coaster about a few years back. Hated every second of it.
