Completely agree, Routledge and Hall were our best players and maybe Faurlin but no one ever notices them, Wish you luck too although I can't say i particulary like Hull too much after past experiences <laugh>. Yeah Taarabt will probably leave and i actually wouldn't mind too much as long as we get a capable replacement who works hard and plays well.

Watched the highlights on the football league show. Wow, the commentator really did have an unhealthy obsession with Taraabt.

What really annoyed me was when he said: "Hull get it away because they had so many people back", Whereas "Q.P.R denied a second goal by some good defending by Hull" would have been much better,

Also our goal, he said: "Ball lumped forward and finished", from what I saw it was a lovely lobbed pass (not a long pass either) from Akpan that was well finished by Amoo for his first ever senior goal.

Very biased watching that, but I do believe it was set up to be Q.P.R's show as they were on the verge of getting promoted, I imagine it must have been the same, but in our favour, at the end of the 2007/08 season?

Best of luck to Q.P.R, hope they sell Taraabt for some decent money to some foolish premier league team and spend the money wisely on improving their already good team.
 
This morning's BBC Breakfast was about as bad, it was Routledge's goal and straight to the pitch invasion. Had to berate their reporter Hollins via twitter about poor editing. City's goal prevented QPR being champions, and Norwich stopped them being promoted, all important parts of the story, but not according to whoever edited the feature this morning.
 
Another thing I noticed in the effortlessly crrap BBC reporting is that we now have a player called Crainey playing for us......excellent work there you dim witted plonkers

I know you have other players and I can't help thinking that they might actually play better if Taarabt wasn't so greedy & selfserving. He ran the ball out of play several times yesterday when a pass to a team mate could have opened us up.

I thought Routledge & "One Size" were your best players yesterday.

p.s. having read the rest of the thread now I see I wasn't the only one who thought this.

That depends on how people look at it.

If a team would be happy to buy him for £3m, then pay him £20k a week, which is probably all about right, then getting him on a free and paying him £45k a week amounts to the same thing. Or is that just wishful thinking?

And against Milddlesbrough, apparently Liam's dad has come out of retirement to play at RB for us! I wouldn't mind if we had a mis-naming for Antony Gerrard... THAT WAS TRUE! <laugh>
 
After reading through this thread I am forced to assume that most of you were not at the game yesterday.

By my count, we had at least double the number of 'good' (subjective, I realise) opportunities to score. Three of those came in the second half which you lot seem to think you should have gone on to win in. Agyemang had one when he tried to lob the 'keeper, one when he should have squared it for a certain goal and Taarabt had one as well. All good chances, all after you scored. There's no way you deserved to go on and win it!

You have all also conveniently forgotten the first half in which we were utterly dominant. We kept the ball very well and showed just how superior we are in every single department bar one - the strikers! That's the real truth of the match, we were much more creative and defended better throughout the game but lacked the killer instinct someone like Fryatt brings to the team. That's what Warnock was getting at in his interview.

Yes, you had a good 15min spell and all credit for taking your opportunity when it arose, but don't get above your station, you most certainly were not the better team! I'm not saying a draw isn't fair, it's our own fault we didn't take our chances and a draw is therefore a fair result, but we shot ourselves in the foot.

Regarding Taarabt, he might not have been at his best but I believe he still got an assist? And those of you at the game would have noticed that when he did have the ball a fair few of your players had their eyes fixated on him, allowing Routledge space to have the good game he had.

18 goals and shed loads of assists don't lie. You may want him to get found out in the Premier League, and he might be, but the fact is that he's earned the chance for us to find out by being far superior to any other player in this league.
 
So he's better than Craig Bellamy then...?

'Sfunny, I thought Bellamy was an experienced PL player, but I could be wrong.

Having most of the possession and looking the better side doesn't win you games unless you convert it to goals from the chances you create. You didn't so therefore we were always in with a shout... We might be taking your place back in the PL, in 12 months time...!
 
He's certainly been better than Bellamy this year and had more of an impact on the championship. Did you watch our match against Cardiff?!

I strongly emphasised in my post that I thought a draw was fair in as much as you don't win unless you have a good striker, I wasn't trying to claim that we deserved to win.

Just trying to dispel the myth that you guys have created that you deserved to win and were the better team! Simply not true.

Edit: You may well take our place, I'm going into next year with the healthy attitude of wanting to enjoy new grounds for a year and plan on enjoying motd etc. Not expecting to stay up. You have a great manager and a good squad, you should do well next year. The only reason you won't is 'cos it's the championship and it's crazy!
 
We were definitely outplayed in the first half, I don't think anyone has suggested otherwise, we just looked much better when we got our act together in the second and the equaliser had been coming for a while, we could easily have gone on to nick it, even if we hadn't been the better team over the full game(just for the record, I was there).

There's a dozen championship players I'd take ahead of Abdul(Bellamy isn't one of them), he's got far too many attitude issues for my liking.

I'm glad you don't want Taarabt, 'cos we did and that's why we'll be playing in the Premier League next year. We couldn't have done it without him. You may not want Taarabt, but you certainly wouldn't turn down 18 goals and 20+ assists. It does make me chortle that people accuse him of greed and an inability to pass but he has over 20 assists! Not sure how people square that one but hey...not my problem.

How has Jay Simpson been for you guys on a different note? Always liked him at rangers, thought he deserved another chance but NW thought otherwise. (And who am I to question a 6(+1) manager?) Do you see potential in him?

He started badly with us, he didn't score for the first 15 odd games of the season, then just when he did manage a couple we went and bought Mclean and Fryatt for £2.5m and he was immediately dropped to the bench. Fryatt has been brilliant, but Mclean has been a bit disappointing, so Simpson got another chance and he's taken it well. I think he's a decent player and he can do a job for us, but I don't expect him to be a first choice player in the starting XI next season.

You're almost as bad as the BBC revolving QPR around Taarabt or is the Queen called Adel now?

Taarabt may have been a big part of your promotion (should you get there) but he hasn't exactly help put to bed the nickname of 'Drama Queens Park Rangers' with his embarassing tantrums this season, has he?
