That is true Chappaz, however you have to think that JB has now got to take more into his consideration here, his missus is now pregnant with his child and needs to make a decision. He's being offered a very good deal at QPR which will see him well with stability for 3 years.

Stability yes but going to a club that have large odds of going back down, rumoured the QPR contract has a clause for him to leave if relelgated. So move to them say they get relegated and he has to move all over again!!!

If it was to Villa or Everton for example I'd understand his move, but can see this being a big risk with less stability. Why not bide his time and try and get a move to a club with a greater PL statuer. No offence to QPR

He has more financial stability in his life than most will ever have, and a year left so doesn't have to jump ship straight away.
If he's such a tough nut why not stay and prove how much of a class player he is and try and get a bigger move, you know the kind he said he'd only leave for - Top 6 European football.

Who honestly gives a **** about Mike Ashley and Llambias? Would you give a **** about what those slimey ****ers have to say? I wouldn't. The owners might not want him, but the fans do, and the club as a whole does, and that's only what matters. If I were Joey I'd tell the owners to stick their opinions up their own arses and I'd stay because I know the fans want me. That's the only important thing.

The fans want him here, but lets face it - once he plays for QPR a few times and shows his commitment and what a good player he is, the fans there will love him too. Its not exactly like they have a lot of top quality players to love. He will get a pay rise, be one of the two most important players at the club and have a 5 year deal. Unfortunately for us, it makes sense for him to leave - even if he wants to stay.

We only say that because that's exactly what he said he'd do. Should have just told us he'd leave if we didnt make him an offer.

Its not just the Barton thing though, we've said it with Carroll and Nolan (admittedly Carroll had just signed a 5 year deal so wasnt in such a defendable position, hes a ****er, but I'm just using him as a point, whenever a player goes people on here always say it.)

Something about him in that interview didn't seem right. There was just no enthusiasm in his voice, no drive.

Just seen Barton on SSN at the training ground and tbh (don't shoot me down) didn't really seem that excited and said he is "completing final stages of the medicals" but "I have not made a final decision yet". And then when asked are you hopeful or optimistic he said "I’m not sure, there are still a number of things to be sorted out".
You can see from his face that he is gutted to be leaving Newcastle but fortunately for us they don't want him.
If i were QPR i would smash all mobile phones and get him to sign. Think he is very mixed up.

He clearly doesnt want to leave, but is going to if we dont offer him a new deal. We wont offer him a new deal, so its goodbye Joey I fear..

Exactly and you do not stay where your not wanted by your bosses. I think people forget that regardless of how much they earn, footballers want job security too. he could break his leg in the next game, wh's the loser then. He is so he has no choice except the ridiculously poor option of staying put

He was a good player for us and I would have liked him to stay, but the writing was on the wall when he slagged off the board. As much as I'm going to miss him, it does give us a nice idea of the future, with a few pacy youngsters in the squad to replace him. I'm torn on this matter right now, whilst I loved him as a player, him leaving could actually make us a better side.

I think the writing was on the wall when they with drew the contract offer to be honest. His comments were just the hammering of the nails into the coffin!

I don't blame him to be honest, if he's not getting a new deal here, he has the right to look else where.

I think he loves it at Newcastle, but if another club need him and are willing to offer him a good contract i don't think he's an arsehole for leaving.

Hmm... But he was offered a two-year deal here. So in real terms he is only gaining 1 extra year of 'stability' (and that is if the new contract supersedes the old one...? I don't know if it does or not tbh).

Joey turned that offer down. He had an option of stability at the "club he loves", which he refused.

Then he went off and started insulting his boss...

He might be gutted, but he has no-one else to blame than himself IMO. I like him as a player, but he is a ****ing pain in the arse to have in your team. And he really doesn't help himself out with his constant mouthing off.

I'd like him to be a renegade vigilante and stay even though hierarchy wants him gone for good.

Maybe if he wasnt married and had a family to think of he would. Seems that type of person.

Ashley and Llambias are totally to blame for him leaving. Using Twitter posts as an excuse is pathetic. Cant believe people actually swallow that tripe.

Pardew doesnt want him to leave.....so if anyone is in doubt that he has no say or control whatsoever and is nothing but a spineless puppet, the fact he played Barton in the first 2 games says it all. Puppetboy doesn't even have control of transfers in or out.

Actually, considering all the drama, it would be a very good PR move for all concerned, especially Ashley, if Barton was offered another contract after all. I wouldn't rule it out just yet, it could be just the lift that Ashley needs to get the fans back on his side for now. Now Barton has seen the light (as in no other club wants him apart from QPR) he could go back and agree to that two year extension that was initially offered. It all plays into Ashley's hands really.

He said he'd wait till the end of the season, which was fair enough, but it stalled on contract length.

I agree. If Ashley is clever enough he would jump on this opportunity and at least partially redeem himself in the eyes of many.

Don't think he's that clever though.
