He was being interviewed in the back of a car.

He said that he was on his way to complete the medical but is still yet to make a final decision.

He looked like he had a bit of a lump in his throat and I kind of felt sorry for him but he doesn't have to leave, does he.

He doesnt have to leave, no. And I wouldnt begrudge him leaving if he hadnt said that he would stay anyway. Could have just told us the truth and we would still respect him.

No, but I am glad he is. For us its terrible, but for him, he is away from being bullied. Good luck to the bloke, I will miss him a lot, but will always cheer him!

Sounds like he's playing games in the hope another London based team comes in for him.

People who say 'if he wants to stay he can reject their offer' .. Why would he? He only has 1 year left here and the owners have made it clear they dont want him. Who would stay when youre clearly not wanted? Who knows if he will have a similar offer next season. This is rumoured to be a 5 year deal with a pay rise. Who wouldnt take that? Its all about job security.

This is why he brought that journalist with him? Sounds to me like he's either having a last-ditch attempt to get Newcastle to offer him something, or he's trying to get an offer from another club.

If he seems so gutted about leaving I DON'T KNOW WHY HE JUST DOESN'T STAY! He's perfectly entitled to. He could stay put and leave in January if he wanted to.

Who honestly gives a **** about Mike Ashley and Llambias? Would you give a **** about what those slimey ****ers have to say? I wouldn't. The owners might not want him, but the fans do, and the club as a whole does, and that's only what matters. If I were Joey I'd tell the owners to stick their opinions up their own arses and I'd stay because I know the fans want me. That's the only important thing.

Typical bloody Barton, he should focusing on deciding if he's going to play for us or sort out a contract elsewhere, instead he's gone bloody dogging. <doh>

We only say that because that's exactly what he said he'd do. Should have just told us he'd leave if we didnt make him an offer.

I was a bit begrudged with him but I don't know what to think after seeing that interview.
He was pausing all the time to hold himself back, no joke.

Cant say I'll be gutted if/when he leaves, I've kind of got over the upset since he was transfer listed. Now we've got to look towards whoever can fill the gap.

im sorry but why have a reporter with you going to your medical? sorry but that drives me mad, very disrespectful to our fans AND QPR fans if he is going there.

This <ok>. He said all along he's committed to Newcastle and doesn't want to leave, even after being put on a free. Now apparently his 'hands are tied' - in other words the big clubs he's been hoping would come for him haven't and he's taking whatever offer comes.
If he'd said he was going to wait to see if we offer him something and leave otherwise, then fair enough - but his joining Twitter to tell people 'the truth' has been exposed for what it is by the fact that he did the exact opposite.

i dont see this joey has no choice rubbish everyone has saying. the club havnt closed the door on him at all, yes he is available on a free and MA does want to get rid but it is joey who caused this by slagging mike off in the first case. we offered joey a 2 year extension but he wanted and extra year and said he wouldnt take any sort of pay cut.

there is a reason the club havnt given him a new deal its because him or his agent are trying to rip us off, good on mike for standing up i say. joey has had one good season here and suddenly he thinks he should get a pay rise? well im sorry but we stuck by JB paying him a huge amount of money when he was in prison and a liability, let me tell you this i doubt ANY other club in the WORLD would stick by JB the way NUFC have.

this move is all about money, joey refused a contract on the same money so did enrique and so did nolan. they all wanted more after a good season, thats not the way it should be.

i wouldnt even care if joey hadnt of said he is going to stay unless he gets offered championship football. now he looks likely to join qpr, about the only club willing to pay a huge wage to him.

im sick of this barton talk anyway we have to go back to last season to find the last game he actually played his best in, this year hes been pretty poor ( only 2 games but still )

Wasn't it Barton himself saying on twitter not too long ago that he "might just stay, and see out my last year, I'm entitled to do that".

That is true Chappaz, however you have to think that JB has now got to take more into his consideration here, his missus is now pregnant with his child and needs to make a decision. He's being offered a very good deal at QPR which will see him well with stability for 3 years.
