from sky sports; More updates from France as reports intimate QPR are closing on a deal for Marseille midfielder Stephane Mbia. A number of Turkish sides are in the hunt but QPR are being strongly linked with a loan switch.

Well, you fire away with your jibes after I was sure not to have them mate, Dawson would have signed for you already if we hadn't shown our hand.

Believe me mate, Hoillett is the only player we 'missed out' on, and that's cos he wanted 80k a week.

We're paying Johnson 50k a week, but then, he actually wanted to play for us.

Not a jibe at all just informing you of the reality !

There's talk that Dawson was set to sign for you, we made a move, and as he's from North Yorkshire, he fancied being back up here, there's sense in that.

I think £9million is a bit rich for the lad, outstanding defender, not so good with the ball & distribution.

I hope we get him, happy for you lads to take M'Bia.

Cheers for signing Hoillett by the way, smashing player, and we were gutted to miss out, but we'd not have Johnson if we'd got him!

Haha do you believe that tosh you just wrote? Cheers for signing hoillett, lol you guys couldnt afford him even if you tried !

Marseille need to sell and their owner said last week a loan deal is of no benefit to them. If its a loan we're after then there is no deal possible. So I'm not sure how accurate these reports are.

Surely it would benefit them if we were paying his wages during the loan, as they're on their uppers!!?

We couldn't afford Hoillett?

We refused to pay over the top, we got a better player in Johnson for LESS (wages wise).

We could easily pay for Hoillett, but why would anyone pay 70k a week to a player who is good, not great?

****ing hell, good lads on this board, but every board has one, and I managed to find him the first time I post here?

Bravo mate.

Sorry to the other QPR lads for upsetting the resident idiot, and good luck for the rest of the season! <ok>

Forget the banter about Hoilett, Johnson etc. What we really could do with is O'Neil ! Good luck MONsMush for the rest of the season.

I think you'll be alright with Hughes to be honest, sit tight for a few weeks while he beds players in, he'll be looking to change style a bit as well, but he'll do alright I reckon.

If you put a quality CB with good communication next to Anton, Anton becomes excellent, and with JH, Taarabt & Cisse, you'll have enough going forward.

Hughes will do well, long term, for you, I have no doubt.

Ric Roc said on Twitter that Mbia is down as having signed for us today on some European transfer website. All down to the offy to announce by the sounds of it.

I saw that too, but i'm not actually sure what the "European Transfer List" thing he mentioned is..

Don't know this player at all. Is he more a CB or DCM. How good is he ?

How come it takes a poster from another team to point out a bit of sense to some of you miserable lot :)

This lad obviously talks sense and I for one applaud him.
Thanks Mush, you are welcome here any time :)
