They just sold us Cesar Azpilicueta for peanuts, normally we'd be forced to pay over the odds but it was for a cut price, they appear to be going backwards in contrast to PSG who are loaded

@thomas_bergkamp on Twitter says Mbia will sign for €7m... apparently confirmed by the management

Is that a permanent deal? I thought it was a loan?

No idea, but if they are absolutely skint, then maybe the delay was in a reassessment of the terms of the deal?

There's pretty strong talk that M'Bia is at Sunderland tomorrow, and we already know Dawson is coming Tuesday for talks.

I don't see why we'd go for M'Bia, he's a very decent player, but MON tends to buy British, and rate Cattermole.

He could be looking at M'Bia as a CB, but he is **** at CB.

    Wait & see I guess.

Understand you have the biggest outdoor pool in England. Perhaps he fancies switching codes to water polo.

Maybe so, or maybe playing for a team that hasn't let in 6 ;)

Joking aside, I doubt we're in for him, as I mentioned, I think people know that we, and you, are both looking to bring in a few more, and will link us with everyone the same.

We are definitely in for Dawson & Defoe, but I think you'll have a free run at M'Bia.

He'll be a top buy for you in midfield.

I'm hoping Barton is being used as leverage for Mbia. Would absolutely love to have both him and Dawson. Can only see it being one or the other though, with the other off to Sunderland.

There's talk that Dawson was set to sign for you, we made a move, and as he's from North Yorkshire, he fancied being back up here, there's sense in that.

I think £9million is a bit rich for the lad, outstanding defender, not so good with the ball & distribution.

I hope we get him, happy for you lads to take M'Bia.

Cheers for signing Hoillett by the way, smashing player, and we were gutted to miss out, but we'd not have Johnson if we'd got him!

Hey Mush, just wondering where sunderland's money comes from? If you add Dawson that's £25m+ spent on three players in a week. And I think you spent something similar last season on six players. Is your owner pumping in the dosh?

Our owners worth £3billion mate, but it's not that.

We actually turned a profit on transfers in/out the last 3 years, this season the new sponsorship deal is worth £20million per year over 3 years, so we're pumping that money into the team.

Bear in mind we received £8million from Villa as an installment for Bent, and £12million for Gyan, and got rid of a few ****e players on big wages, and we've actually spent very little.

Its a straight cash deal for mbia plus jb goes the other way however we pay his wages. They have an option to purchase Barton at the end of the loan deal.

Is that all mate? One of our owners was worth 27 billion according to the latest index of the worlds richest people. On top of that why would any player want to move to the north east?

All the best for the season but I highly doubt you will be able to beat us to any players any time soon.

Well, you fire away with your jibes after I was sure not to have them mate, Dawson would have signed for you already if we hadn't shown our hand.

Believe me mate, Hoillett is the only player we 'missed out' on, and that's cos he wanted 80k a week.

We're paying Johnson 50k a week, but then, he actually wanted to play for us.

7m euros is about £5-5.5m? Thats a good price for someone who was bought for almost twice that.
Lets hope both moves come off. I think both Ferdinand and Onuoha will play better with this guy and not each other.

Totally agree with this. He's been nothing but reasonable. It's like there's an agenda from some posters (-or one poster with a load of alts) on here to provoke trouble with a sly nudge or dig at just the right place in a thread.

Apropos of nothing I miss that attention whore ABITB from 606. I wonder what happened to him...?

Well done to MONsMush for not rising to it.

He's wrong about Defoe though. He's ours come Thursday.....<laugh>
