I'd be more inclined to go with RH, they seem to have better links to the club than the HDM do. It's probably a bit early to call the Hooper deal dead, we have two months to sort it out, but if they've priced us out then I suppose there's nothing we can do about it.
HDM definitely have the better links to the manager. RH made a complaint last season about what they perceived as preferential treatment for Phil Buckingham.

@bodenknights: Just off the phone from one of the joint-chairmen, nothing agreed with anyone as regards Charlie, although interest is picking up by the day @bodenknights: Club trying their best to keep him, have offered him improved terms, but looking like he could be on his way shortly Chris Boden is Chief Football writer at the Burnley Express. @HDMsport: Stoke now competing with #hcafc for Charlie Austin. Sources say City making 'steady progress' on Celtic's Gary Hooper.
Daily Star say Stoke in for Austin too, though they can't be taken seriously, with the quote in the same story about Sunderland being interested too: Er, no he didn't - Austin left Swindon 4 months before Di Canio took charge. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/323628/?
That suggests it could drag on for weeks. How long did we have McGregor's fee agreed for? I know that buying players takes a bit of time, but we don't half take a while to get it sorted. What you want is "City are interested....City have bid....City have offer accepted.....City agree personal terms.....City announce the signing of..." in the space of about 2 weeks maximum. The longer we wait, the more chance there are that more established clubs will come in and hijack deals, which leave us red faced after a month of interest. I know SB will have other targets, but if Hooper and Austin don't come, we're going to look a bit silly and more perhaps more pertinently, we still won't have a new strike force at the club.
McGregor was on holiday in Dubai when we agreed to sign him, he only got back to Turkey last weekend and had to sort things there before coming to sort terms with us.
Austin. Has scored more goals in a far better league than the SPL. But i would like both and Sharp btw. btw....McGregor was @ the KC last week the hdm mentioned.
With Celtic agreeing deals for 2 un-named strikers it looks like Gary Hooper is about to head south (but where ?) reports in the scottish media suggest. Sky have also mentioned that its more likely that Hooper will leave this summer. As for Stoke City, it could be just paper talk re.Austin and sky report that Mark Hughes wants Darren Bent to replace Kenwyn Jones who is wanted by Swansea and Cardiff City. Yes James Chester's dad. They met in the Polar Bear last night.
what you seem to be overlooking here is that City wont have officially released the fact that they were after any of these players. If they had it there way they would announce the signing as and when it happens and that's the first we've ever heard of it. They cant control when a player's agent of club make noises to the media to dry and drum up competition for a signature.
sometimes I think posters do this on purpose & you've taken the bait. Nobody outside of Hull gives a toss, it's a different sport.
Burnley have come out on Twitter and denied any substance to them accepting a deal from Hull City for Charlie Austin. Although I believe this to be a smokescreen because of Stoke's interest (basically advertising him to get more money out of his sale). I've been informed that we've had a deal accepted (backed up by Mike White) and are already discussing personal terms. I think if Stoke decide to offer more/the same then we may struggle to get him. I think we're still in for Gary Hooper, but it's going under the radar (thankfully) and things may be getting sorted out.
I can just see us missing out on both tbh. That would leave us screwed as i can see us ending up with Grant Holt.
Received an Email saying we're about to table a £5-£6M offer for Mboyo. Increasing our options is very smart indeed. We now have 3 main targets for strike (Austin, Hooper and Mboyo) meaning we could maybe miss out on one (maybe 2) and still get a decent striker. Grant Holt has been mentioned a lot and he gets widely criticised but I think he's a great player and would give us that strength and heading prowess upfront that we've been missing. Definitely worth a punt IMO. OLM mentioned Petric on Twitter, and on an FAT, he'd be a great signing. All speculation of course though (the latter two).
