Would take Hooper, but I expect it to be Austin - Would prefer both.

Also hope the talk of Holt is just press rubbish, would rather pay 3m for Odenwinge than 2m for Holt.

I'd like both but if there was a choice I'd go for Austin

It'd be great to have both, but would prefer Hooper. But if it was a choice between Hooper or Austin plus Odemwingie, I'd be even happier with the latter.

If we end up with neither, I think Odemwingie plus AN Other is a must.

The point here is that these are different types of strikers. Austin, Mboyo and Holt are big bustling lads with differing degrees of technical ability in the old Centre Forward mould. They good for playing as lone strikers in a 4231 or as a main striker ina pair. But these strikers are rarely going to score you 20 goals a season.

The second type of striker are what used to be called "Number 10s". They are your goal machines, but they cannot play up front on their own.

Now with the current set of striker rumours, Hooper, Odemwinge, Adam Le Fondre etc fall into that category.

So, in terms of the OP, Austin would be the only option in an either or question because you would not have the likes of Hooper playing on his own up front.

Either but I think I'd take Hooper just because it would royally piss off the Hoops North of the border.

Hooper, although some say hes unproven in the prem the goalposts are the same size and some of his instinctive finishes are sublime. Levels above austin imo.

Hooper, because if he can live around the Scunny area then he'll be happy living around here (or back near Scunny)

Hooper, he has much more footballing ability that you can see through his first touch and dribbling. In a perfect world I would love to also have Austin and Odemwingie as you can never have too many top players like we saw when Aluko got injured last year and we looked a very different team. Also, Odemwingie can play as a winger so would offer more versatility which is good as we lack options out wide with only Elmo, Quinn, Brady really able to play there

    4. Austin & Holt/Le Fondre

But I really want a fit Gedo back..

I think we have a decent chance of getting Austin.

    I don't think we'll get Hooper.

Burnsy tweeting today that deal agreed with Burnley and terms being discussed with Austin. Hooper a no go.

Its looking more like Austin and if this happens then we are going to have to get another forward in who as plenty of pace because Austin is a good all round scorer but does lack pace

Austin would be a better deal for the club going forward...whether he'd be a better prospect in the Prem than Hooper one can wonder.

He's certainly gonna be an improvement on what we've got currently.
