Quote Obs "Finally, our name is important to me and thousands of City fans"

If we're being economical with the truth about "thousands of fans" then equally "tens of thousands of fans" would disagree with you.

Thanks for listening.

"I agree that probably less than 5% of supporters are FOR the name change. No argument with that at all.

As I have said countless times... I am not for Hull City Tigers...very few people are.

For the record, I'm neither for it, or against it.

We are HULL CITY... We are THE TIGERS.

I refuse to comment on this topic anymore.

For me, the definition of a wind-up merchant is someone who says something just to get a reaction and don't really believe what they are saying.

I'm fine with being called a c*** or a wind-up merchant"

I find it genuinely incredible that you would read through all that and once again post what is in effect, a claim that we should let him do what he wants because he put his money in.

It's as if it's more important to people that we don't hurt this man's feelings - this man who doesn't give a **** about any of us and freely states that this is the case - than the future of the club.

What is this "Doing whatever he wants"? that is so terrible?

Is he moving the club to a city 40 miles away like Coventry?

Is he Changing the Club colours like Cardiff?

Is he changing the name of the club to some ridiculous, sponsored name like Total Network Solutions or Vauxhall Motors??

Yes I recognise those words... not exactly cut and pasted them in their original context though have you...

How about this for an idea... if you start cutting out individual words from my posts, you could probably come up with something that I mug old ladies as well.

Why did I put you on ignore again? Oh yes.. thanks for reminding me.

He is not taking the CTWD seriously, in the same way as I've never taken you keyboard warriors seriously.
He is taking the club forward whereas you lot are binding it in useless history by harping back to 1904.
I only go back as far as 1962 with the club, and it's history is not worth shouting about.

He treats you as a minority, as I do, and your polls against the name change as 'a majority of a minority'.

Personally I had hoped he had called for a vote taken by the season ticket holders, he'd get my 5 votes, and then you lot would hopefully be bound by the silent majority and shut up.

Anyway he has thrown down the gauntlet and that is you either follow him forward or find another club to support.
Start picking your new club......pick one with AFC....that's seems very important to you name worshipers..

Having listened to all the vids and audio clips I have the feeling that the club is being run by a dictator

You mean like Abramovich at Chelsea or The Glazers at United or Randy Lerner at Villa or Mike Ashley at Newcastle or Elliott Short at Sunderland or the Liebherr family at Southampton etc etc etc?

Ok, so to these Allam out folks, just who exactly would you like to see come in and take over our club which is currently trading at a loss of £27m?

Ken Bates? Milan Mandaric? Who?

you are failing to take into account that people on here and other boards have fought for the survival of the club frequently over the past 31 or more years and that members of people's families went to the grave after years of supporting not knowing that we eventually got to wembley and the top table. that history is important to many whether you judge it important or not. the rochdale fans have their precious memories just as the manchester united ones do, but theirs are more hard won and all the more precious because of their rarity.

why the hell should people go follow another club? the old man will be pushing up daisies in most people's lifetimes.

there is a famous quote you should consider, as someone against those prepared to stand up for their beliefs.

Martin Niemöller (1892-1984) was a prominent Protestant pastor who emerged as an outspoken public foe of Adolf Hitler and spent the last seven years of Nazi rule in concentration camps.

Niemöller is perhaps best remembered for the quotation:

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me.

beware.

no, last year it lost £27m. then it won the biggest prize going, a place in the premier league.

You're seriously comparing standing up to Allam as standing up to the dictator responsible for the Holocaust are you?

Oh dear....

you're seriously saying people should shut up and be grateful for any old treatment, are you?

oh dear...

anyway, fun listening to your lack of logic (mirroring our great leader), but that's enough for me for now.

Indeed, and by common he meant there were many clubs using the name City, not that it was "vulgar". He was, I think, trying to differentiate between groups of fans chanting come on City, who could be Coventry, Manchester, Leicester etc. He may not have made his point very well (how well do you express yourself in Arabic?), but I don't think he was being insulting.

To many people on here are damning him for things he hasn't said.

We should all (including AA) take a step back and calm down and try and compromise.

The voice of reason.

I too think that he meant the word 'common' in exactly the same context as you already suspect
