Wasn't a lot the money not hard cash, but guarantees against loans that Duffen and Bartlett had taken out?
I believe they were paid in full as the interest rates were phenomenal. I think Duffen used Wonga for the loans.

There's only two posters on this board that are members of the CTWD campaign, myself and Obi and I don't believe either of us have said anything stomach turning.
Allam does a slightly less obnoxious, but equally annoying TV interview...
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24913705#asset
Dr Allam: "Look, from 1904, Hull and City and Tigers always there, so there's no addition to the name. No change of name."
Dr Allam:"The name as registered with the FA and the Companies House always has been Hull City AFC (Tigers) Ltd."
Dr Allam: "Tigers has always been part of the name!"
The first time 'Tigers' appeared in our registered company name, was actually 2001.
Whether or not that is the case it still doesn't justify people referring to him on here as a '****' or '****er'. People who make these remarks may or may not be members of the CTWD group, but one thing is for certain, they will be understood to be, and it will certainly not, like it or not, help the CTWD cause to be associated with people that use such terms towards AA on a public forum.
I've yet to read a post from AA that says in no uncertain terms that he thinks PLT is a ****ish ****er, he may well think it, and he may well be correct, but he would have more sense than to confirm it in the public domain.
Don't know about that. When you start banging on about Alex Bruce, I certainly start to feel a bit queeezie!

I have yet to find anyone who agrees with Mr. Allam that changing the name will bring in extra revenue, even those who are happy to go along with it or aren't bothered. I have thought all along that it could cost us money as we will lose the identity we already have. We won't even be able to keep the identity on a local level as the name that we have spent years and decades following will be diluted. Just as many of us opposing the name change will reluctantly accept it if extra revenue is obtained because of it, will those in the "for" camp campaign against it if it is shown to cost us revenue?
I doubt PLT cares what Allam thinks of him. Similarly, I doubt Allam cares what PLT thinks of him.
I wouldn't say he's thrown it away. I understood he loaned the company money, and is making a return on his investment. As with all investments there is a risk and most investors taking these risks should make sure they can still manage should it go t**s up. I think it's quite probable that should we be in the Premier League next season he could sell it for a profit, hardly throwing money away. Besides, he said he did it as a gift to the people of Hull.
Okay so he saved the club from going under. Brought in a manager like Steve Bruce, Got us to the promise land in less time than we ALL anticpated. Brought in class players. Other than that. What have the Allam's done for us?
According to the script the response is: **** Off!!!
So when he moves Hull Tigers to Melton is that when you finally wake up? And then he drops the word Hull to tap into a wider geographical pot calling us simply Tigers is that going too far or will you say "well as long as we're good on the pitch, he's the boss"?
And your comparison doesnt work in any way, shape or form. There are millions of cars out there you can own and you change your car every few years. We are talking about something where in 109 years the ONLY constant in all of that has been the name. It astounds me that people proclaiming to be fans can have this attitude. I can cast iron guarantee there is no other club in the top flight of English football who have so many fans who would roll over and take this royal ****ing shafting from a mental despot and it frankly sickens me. Liverpool are light years behind Man Utd in terms of revenues and havent won the leage for 20 years. What do you think the reaction would be if Fenway said we're changing the name in an attempt to address this?
I watched Hull and Rovers on TV a while back and when they showed the league table it was embarrassing - full of "Leeds Monkeys", etc. It makes you think it's some kind of mickey mouse sport. The football in England and Wales has a proud tradition going back a long time. Bringing in silly names will dilute respect.
can someone explain something to me. AA keeps saying that he's spend a ton and that we are still short of cash, hence why he wants to change the name.
Then what was the point in promotion? if we're still struggling financially now we're in the prem, then what the hell would have happened had we not gone up?
One thing is the accounts that Dr Allam said will be out next week. The Guardian reckon we will announce loss of 27.8 mill in our promotion season. So the financies cannot continue without major investment from somewhere.
