It rejected my card and I had 1 minute 30 seconds countdown to enter card and address details again before it kicked me out. Went through alright though £80 each which is ridiculous
I think the ****fest is because bands who go their own way without trying to jump on anyone else's bandwagon come along but rarely. Rock and roll is a tired format now, it's getting harder and harder to do anything different with it. So when someone comes along with a distinctive style, the music press jump on it. Their lyrics are great, too.
I think you have to give them a good listen. A lot will think "here we go the new Oasis" and it's anything but that, they are good musicians and the lyrics are really good. As much as there are going to be similarities to other British bands they are a cut above and already one of the best British bands ever.
First album was and still is brilliant, haven't paid too much attention to them after that. Remember listening to their 2nd album and thinking it wasn't all that, in comparison. Might have to revisit and see what they're bringing to the table in 2018.
Blimey mate. I mean each to their own but IMO they've only ever done 1 good album and I can think of about 20-30 better bands we've produced. My opinion, naturally.
I like all the album's, some better than others like but you can knock out a 25 track best of and it's brilliant, so many good songs. Chuck out a list of better bands though, that'll be interesting.
Best of British. The Smiths Joy Division Sabbath Zepplin Stone Roses Can't think of any others I love off the to of my head.
Yeah I quite like Arctic Monkeys. I’m not a massive lover of that genre of music but they’ve made some good stuff. Favourite indie rock/ alternative/ whatever the genre’s called these days is Royal Blood.
I'll have to come back to you on that one - will take a while. The only album I liked was 'whatever people say...' which was excellent and I still have tracks off that kicking around my playlists. Very much my generation. I was in the Sixth Form when it was released and I can relate to a lot of it!
My experience and same with a lot of my mates too. They lost a lot of their energy with the odd exception which was what I liked.
A few to my mind: The Beatles The Kinks The Who Led Zeppelin Black Sabbath Pink Floyd Deep Purple Rolling Stones Queen David Bowie Eric Clapton The Police Genesis Oasis Elton John Iron Maiden The Jam Duran Duran The Specials The Sex Pistols The Smiths Massive Attack Radiohead Portishead Prodigy Chemical Brothers Basement Jaxx There are others that people might argue with like Coldplay, Madness, The Clash, Judas Priest, Motorhead, Dire Straits, Gary Numan, The Eurythmics, Blur, Muse, Stone Roses, Depeche Mode, Jeff Beck, Amy Winehouse, George Michael.
