I wouldn't take any reported 'from a source' rumour at this stage ... usually indicates hypothetical bandwagon jumping as to 'interest' with a random figure then plucked out of thin air ...

The reality is that every player has a price - and indeed most can have their heads 'turned' - it's a 'job offer' after all.

If somebody from the Prem came in with a bid north of £4 million and offered to double his wages you have to accept that both the player (his agent etc) and the club are likely to want to push the transfer through .., not nice for us fans but that's the reality

No deal, McLean would eat the Double Decker, making the deal fall through.

Its far too early to say that no other prem club is interested in Kasper, but Hull is an obvious link for jernos

No one would begrudge Kasper a move to the prem but if its piss poor offers like 2-3M i would rather let him walk for nothing next year

And what happens if he slaps in a transfer request? We've made an offer now, so he knows he's wanted and he won't resist the chance to show what he can do in the Premier League.

Are you saying that your owners would keep him in the reserves for a year before letting him walk for nothing? When he's one of your highest wage earners??

Think you need to go and sit quietly in a dark room for a bit, pal!

The only way he will go for the kind of money you are talking about is if there is a bidding war and at this stage that doesn't look likely.

If you think he'd got for anything less than 3/4m then you need to go and sit quietly in a dark room for a bit, pal!

I know money doesn't come around often in little old Hull. But 1m is 'derisory' <laugh>

I don't know why we're even debating it still.

It's funny this because Leicester offered £1m for Koren at his prime if I remember rightly.

We'll just be testing Kasper's 'loyalty' to Leicester. We'll see what happens now.

Although I don't actually believe a bid has been put in place anyway.

It's a bit different, you know that.

Koren was over 30 years old with only about 2/3 years at the level he was. A million wouldn't be far off his real price.

Kasper is 26, and as he's a keeper, will be able to carry on for another decade and a half. A million is miles off his real price.

The point is your a fan and not the owner who is in it to make money , they won't want to lose him for nothing regardless of what you fans think .

Exactly the point - our owners will want to keep players who may win promotion, and take the windfall of £120m, rather than a couple of million for a player who we would then have to replace. Kasper has had a good season, and cant see NP wanting to let him go. It will be interesting to see what approach our owners take on this. Think Hull may be better off going for Given at £1m (proven in the Premiership), or trying to prise Westwood on a season loan from the mackems.

I don't think we'll get anywhere near £4m for him.

If he refuses to sign a new contract we'll be forced to sell him this summer with ffp looming.

He may be worth £4m with a few years left on his contract but I reckon he'll go for about £2.5m tops as it stands.

It seems we haven't actually bid for McGregor or Schmeichel, so it was all bollocks(though apparently we are considering both).

Kasper won't go to Hull. I'm pretty certain of it

I would go as far as saying if Kasper signs for Hull Charles can pick my avatar for next season

You could join AKCJ in the Hull City fan club........

Seriously though I can't see business being done between our clubs. Bruce might have been able to tap up Schmeichel Jr through his dad (best ever Prem keeper IMO)

They're all mates aren't they (the Schmeichels and Bruces)?

    Telephone transcript.

PS: Hiya our kid. I've just been talking to your uncle Steve. Can you give him a ring?
KS: Sure thing dad. Can Alex come back for a sleepover after I've agreed terms?
