i also tend to agree on the conar wickham thought. so pressure on him and he will surely buckle under the weight.
pure madness that transfer fee.

Connor Wickham is the most over-rated player in the history of football. He is famous simply for being 17 and nothing else. He hasn't actually ripped the Championship apart whilst being 17, or scored loads of goals, they would be achievements. No he's just played a bit part role while he's 17, and that earns him a multi-million pound move?!

I used to be 17, no one paid millions of pounds for me.

they did for me, taiwanese businessmen have funny tastes in boyfriends!

Perhaps you have a different perception of talent and potential than Liverpool, Arsenal or Sunderland, all of whom bid in excess of £6m for him !

Still, going by the club you support you must have a strange perception of football anyway. Would signing Bullard on £45k a week be an indication of the Hull City expertise?

Actually no, I can understand why you'd think so but signing Jimmy Bullard wasn't a decision I had any influence on. Though if I had, I would still have signed him as he's better than anyone that either of our clubs currently have on the books. Unfortunately, that now infamous wage along with his injury record have turned him into a poor signing, but at the time I was delighted.

My perception of talent with regard to Connor Wickham is that he has played in the Championship, not scored a lot of goals, not torn up any trees, not made a massive impact on Ipswich's side and has often been used as a substitute. He didn't play a major part in Ipswich's cup run either, Tamas Priskin was the hero there. It seems the only thing Wickham has going for him is his age, which many players have. We have a young striker called Mark Cullen who is 18, and has played a few games in the championship without having much of an impact. Would you like him for £10m?

stadium of light??? i think it was more the stadium of tunnel!!! how many games was it again?

i expect more of the same this season, 12th at best.

We'll re-visit this later in the season - the proof of the pudding, as they say!

It's not even debatable mate, he's done nothing more in the Championship than any other young striker who's made a handful of appearances, as I've said we have a similar example in our side, there will be countless others in the league.

Yes but who actually paid it then eh ? As for the Bullard - 45k, as much as it pains me to say it I MUST AGREE WITH U
but the regime who signed him have all gone and left there dirty work here. For sure Bullard wont be around much longer.

Shhh, you aren't allowed to say that. The general footballing consensus is that Sunderland, Newcastle, Tottenham and Stoke have the loudest fans in the world and that is that. The fact that they none of those clubs make any more noise than any other similarly supported one, and that Stoke actually play Delilah on the tannoys whilst it's being sung must be ignored so we can carry on with this 'best fans in the world' nonsense.

Thinking about it, it doesn't take much to be snapped up by a PL club these days. All you have to do is:

Be 21 or younger
Score a goal in the PL, or no more than 10 in the Championship.
Be mentioned on the FL show.

When Mark Cullen made his PL debut against Wigan, there was a rumour the next day that Man U were looking at him. Why does being young suddenly make you more wanted than any other player? It was the same with Cairney, he had a few good games and then suddenly Liverpool, Everton, Spurs etc all came knocking, showing an interest because he was (to quote Football Manager) 'the next Jim Baxter'.

Better than being the next Jim Beglin I suppose....

What you mean a bloke who won the league and Cup double with the best team in England before having his career cruelly cut short by a horrific injury at 27? I would settle for any City full back to be half as good as Beglin was.

If that's the case, how come we haven't shifted Cullen yet?

Can we rephrase that to "How come a big club hasn't come in for Cullen yet?" I get a bit sick of all the negativity surrounding him, the total opposite of the treatment Wickham gets when their achievements are very similar!
