The main thing is that he's said something that implies the mindset to better ourselves and be innovative about it is not here.

I can tell you from personal experience of helping 60+ people looking for investment from our region, and managing to secure investment from outside of the region myself, the mindset very much is there, and that there are the same proportion of the region as anywhere else in the country who have ideas, and motivation, and the biggest hindrance is often the lack of private and public money that they can access to bring their ideas to fruition in a bigger market. I won't go into details, but the valuation of my company was more than doubled by investors in London from what it was up here, because they are used to seeing people think big and know the value of that.

But it's a truly narrow-minded idiot who doesn't see beyond his own stereotype of people in any region or country.
I'm not sure what folks gripe is with you on here. Your business knowledge fascinates me and should be warmly applauded by everybody on this site.

Keep them coming, I really appreciate your insight.

Mine is only a small gripe but every time I see kittenmittens at the top I know it will be quicker reading war and peace than what’s coming up

I Usually read about three lines if it's about how good he is

I stop reading

If it's slagging some one off

I stop reading

If it's what he has already said before

I stop reading

He won't reply to me as he has me on ignore

I could be happy :emoticon-0136-giggl :emoticon-0137-clapp <party>

Having seen it in black and white it’s as well Eton Charlie has moved back down South to start a family , SAFC fans would have pulled his marriage tackle off he had remained in town ,it’s no the wonder Stewart Donald reconvened the meeting and quickly disassociated himself from the comments . I think it will be a long time if ever that he would dare show his smug face in the area again .

Do we know for certain that they are the actual minutes?

The reason i ask is that the 1st paragraph doesn't look like any minutes i've seen before "I can't remember he saying the North East has less Entrepreneurs than the south"

Most minutes are written in the 3rd person in my experience.

If that really is a widely held belief in the football world (and I'm not saying it is), surely that is something for us, as fans of the club, to be concerned about.
Who, with anything about them, hears criticism of themselves and doesn't take time to consider their actions?

Look more like notes/comments on a draft of minutes. It seems the Times and Daily Mail have seen them so probably leaked from them @safc1879_ posted it on Twitter.

Isn't the point of a forum to write stuff? Wether it's short or long, it should be treated exactly the same.

If you don't like long posts, just don't read them.

Why complain about a poster who's putting effort into contributing to a forum, just because you don't like the length of his posts?

Bewildering.

No more concerned than the fans of any club with a passionate fan base, in my opinion. For example, a couple of years ago the west ham fans were fighting each other most weeks, invading the pitch waving corner flags around and making a disgrace of themselves on the day they were supposed to marking the 25th anniversary of Bobby Moore's death. I agree with the sentiment but I think it's part and parcel of supporting a big football club with passionate fans that the owners get it in the neck when expectations aren't being met. I think in the grand scheme we're no more toxic than the supporters of any big club. In any event, who really wants to win the 'most reasonable supporters' award.

The fighting each other and all that stuff was some time before the pitch invasion at West Ham. The two weren't connected.
However, if, as Methven suggests, that our fans are known to be a problem for owners and hold the club back, or at least, the rest of the football world thinks that we are, surely that is something that the fanbase needs to have a long hard think about.
Personally, I don't think (for the most part) that we are holding the club back but I find the lack of introspection from people in response to this statement odd.

CM 'suggested' is a strange thing especially followed by
"We need to be careful with the term suggested"
CM should clarify this if not true.

You don't think it's true (for the most part) but you think people aren't being introspective enough? Baffled as to what you're hoping for or what the measurables are. As far as I can see all the fans want is clear and obvious effort from the players, a manager with a plan and an ownership with a little bit of ambition. I don't think that's a particularly bad set of cards to start with for any owner when you consider we're getting circa 30k attendances in league 1. Most clubs can only dream of that.

Yeah, that's right. Methven has, apparently, levelled specific criticism at the fans. The blanket response has been "no, that's not true, he's wrong, he's just a southern toff". Complete denial. No one has gone "what could he mean? Have we caused problems for the owners?" Seems short-sighted to me.
