Visited Petra (Jordan) with our lass last week what an awesome place, just get the feeling it isn't being looked after though, people climbing all over the monuments etc. Any one else been? Karl Pilkington went on Idiot Abroad.
I would certainly recommend it ... I've been out in Jordan for two years and it's the first real chance of doing the tourist stuff.

I saw a woman drop her purse in the high street this morning, so I quickly followed her.
As I was just about to tap her on the shoulder she started running for a bus.
So I ran after her shouting, "You dropped your purse! You dropped your purse!"
She didn't hear me and proceeded to get onto the bus, so I got on the bus too.
As I walked to the back of the bus I breathlessly said, "You dropped your purse on the floor outside McDonald's."
"Thank you so much" she said, "Where is it?"
I said, "I've just told you, on the floor outside McDonald's."

A desperate looking woman stood poised on the edge of a high cliff about to jump off.
A filthy tramp wandering by stopped and said,"Look, since you'll be dead in a few minutes, and it won't matter to you, how about a shag before you go?"
She screamed, "NO! Bugger off you filthy old bastard!"
He shrugged and turned away saying,"Okay, I'll just go and wait at the bottom then."
