Will the van driver face charges and be required to pay for the damage? Bloody lucky the falling lamp didn't hit a vehicle coming the other way.

It happens quite regularly and I don't think they're often charged with anything.

I've often thought there should be a catch-all offence on the books whereby one could be charged with being a ****ing Arsehole and upon conviction, receive an appropriate number of kicks up the arse by a size 12 army boot. The severity of the convicted Arsehole's offence would determine the number of kicks. I reckon this van driver deserves at least a dozen!
