If we hadn't ****ed up on Saturday, Silva would have managed 1.5 pts per game, against Phelan managing less than a point a game, the difference between relegation and staying up. Phelan W/6 D/5 L/13 = 23 (24 games) Silva W/8 D/3 L/9 = 27 (20 games) Factor in the added difficulty of coming into a club already in difficulty, selling off two key players and the added difficulty of the pressure on the games at the end of the season and Silva's done a brilliant job. He'll have no shortage of offers in the summer.
Haven't we made up something ridiculous like 16 points on Boro? Its just annoying how well Swansea have done, if they'd kept Bradley for another month we'd be safe.
Phelan did well in the cups - a couple of those wins (Stoke and Man U) transferred to our league form would have probably seen him stay as manager for a while longer at least. But there's a huge gulf in both manager's PL stats: Phelan W3 D4 L13 = 13 pts or 0.65 pts per game Silva W6 D3 L7 = 21 pts or 1.3125 pts per game And it's the big money league that matters
