he will have failed his mission to keep us up no matter that he has done well, failure is failure right
Would hope that if Silva has made it clear that he will leave upon relegation, we have a shortlist drawn up already to interview in the weeks after relegation to get a manager in place as quickly as possible. But I won't hold my breath.
I think we'll have to factor in silvas agent? If he thinks he can line his pockets by being involved with us then he will regardless of which league we're in? worth a thought?
How many key/valuable players have signed new contracts, as opposed to having one-year extensions on their existing ones? How many times did Silva's agent approach City before he was able to get Silva in? ASK EHAB!
We could be 90 mins from relegation on Sunday! He didn't have to say anything else! It's how you interpreted it!
Yeah fair point. We could also be 90 minutes from the stadium being blown up. There are lots of permutations.
Unfortunately Stan we and other clubs have to be cautious dishing out contracts. I bet beginning of the season if we'd have given Michael Dawson a three year deal everyone would have agreed. I bet they wouldn't know.
Lets be really optimistic - Mbokani might score a goal for us - has any other striker gone a full season without finding the back of the net
we were 1 pt from safety when silva came in and we are 1 pt from safety now... he's had a lot more backing than phelan and we are still in the same position?? the only top 6 side we've played at home under silva is liverpool compared, to arsenal, chelsea, man utd, man city under phelan and no away wins But the end result could still be relegation, is he still to good for us then? ---------------------------------- Interesting. I didn't realise, or had forgotten that first fact (assuming it is true). The general talk is as if we were cut adrift with no hope before he came in. I like Silva. However, I think many have gone far too overboard with their praise of him and / or are far too premature. Is he really that special, or is it just that he made a couple of obvious changes that needed making, brought a fresh approach, is good (in a non-Bruce way) with the media, is photogenic and so on? Our away record under him continues to be abysmal, he's slipped up in some key moments at home, he's failed to grasp some key opportunities, and made some bizarre decisions (just like others before). I'm not slating him. I'd like him to stay and get a proper shot at it. But facts are facts, and our tendencies are to go overboard (either great or crap). ?
Dawson, I'll give you, Chazz. I was thinking of Robbo, Maguire and Clucas (but I seem to recall that we re-contracted Sam?)
