Yes, but as I said the voter kept electing him, and other clowns, purely because they were Labour, irrespective of if they were competent or not. Geraghty didn’t keep getting elected because the voters liked him or because he had unique abilities.
I think he was elected as an independent against Labour candidates at least twice so he had some personal support on Orchard Park. There are not many examples of independents being elected in Hull, especially in what are nominally safe Labour seats.
