I think you are mistaking forthrightness for being wound up Tash. As I say there is just no two way about this time, you're just plain wrong. Only a baffoon would think that England team didn't play with heart and passion. To a man they put it all in. They just weren't good enough. As I say fans like yourself are the ones that England don't need. That is not a personal insult. Your fairweather as far as England goes, and you're not alone. Previously it has been right on occasion to accuse the team of not being together or maybe not caring enough. Nowhere near as much as the media would have you believe, but justified on occasion. This time the players stepped up to the plate and put in 110%. Then we have the same fairweather fans who instead of using their brain and realising its quality we lack, accusing them of the same old ****e as before. When the cap fits that's fine. To me being a fan is getting behind your team no matter what. **** I even get behind the Englands I don't have faith in in terms of commitment. I'm English afterall. To not get behind them because there are better teams is just piss poor to be honest.
You're not an England fan and never have been Tash. You're a Newcastle fan and fairweather England with a passing interest to moan about the national team. There are an awful lot of those types in this country.
It's things like this which make me wonder why I even waste my energy on you. You need to read what I'm saying properly, I never said or implied that England's performances affect my loyalty to it. As long as there's passion there, I can get into it.
If someone is just making a point, and being relaxed when talking to you, don't be a disrespectful bellend back, because even though you might not be called me names, but you're making comments that are disrespectful. If you disagree then fine, you're entitled to do that. Just reply with a bit more respect.
I support England, but It's gotten to the point where I just wonder why I even bother watching the games. I agree to you to an extent, I'm not really a massive England fan, but something always makes me watch England games and makes me want to get behind the team, and it's not just because I like to moan about it. I still feel good inside when I see England score, and feel a bit **** when we concede, but I have to admit that when we were knocked out yesterday, and I personally just didn't care, I tried to care, but I couldn't.
Heck if I stopped supporting teams because they weren't one of the best or didn't win things, I'd not even Acknowledge Newcastle United.
Maybe it's because Euro 2012 isn't really a big thing for me, and I prefer the World Cup. The feeling and the atmosphere around that competition is way better for me, and I find it almost as exciting as the Premier League.
I was up and down the house with emotion when England played Germany in the 2nd round of the World cup. I remember when we should have been back to 2-2 but we got the goal line decision given against us. I felt absolute joy and rage within a few seconds.
I never said the whole team were ****s, and I made the point that young players playing with passion and heart is one of the main reasons I still give a **** about England. But most of them, to me, don't give me the impression that they care that much.
I personally think it's a shame Ox and Carroll get more time. We looked like a much more energetic, dangerous and mentally strong team with them.
I aint a die hard England fan, but I do care.
