Just have to look at the impact it's had already, we really can't lose it. Hopefully the court sees sense and sees that this could enable youngsters from Hull to actually achieve a career in the game, rather than appease a few hobbyists which doesn't get anyone anywhere.

It tickles me when people do what Burns has just done there in trying to imply reading gossip on a social media site shows they have some sort of inside knowledge.

Where did he say he had read it on a social media site? He said he heard a whisper and then posted that on a social media site.
In this case, he probably has got some inside knowledge, the judgement is about to be announced.
Council reacts to Court's decision over Airco Arena - 18/09/2015
Hull City Council statement:
We are of course disappointed with the Court's decision. We considered that protecting the established community use of the Airco Arena was morally the right action.
The Court has applied a strict legal interpretation of a lease that was drafted some 12 years ago. The Council did everything in its power to resolve this issue without resorting to legal action, however we were left with no alternative but to press forward with legal proceedings against the Stadium Management Company.
The facility remains an important part of the city's community sports provision, reflecting the reason the Council originally invested in its development, and we have a duty to safeguard that.
Our offer to continue working with the Club and the SMC to find an appropriate long term solution remains open.

Erm, isn't that what Courts are expected to do?

Brilliant news that the arena we paid for is now underused? I think not. Another nail in Allam's coffin for me.
Having written contracts for about 30 years and used legal advice regularly, I can only think HCC have some very poor contract drafters and legal aid, who didn't protect the intended stadium use (allegedly) and then advised them to go to the courts to seek redress. What a waste of public funds.
