Funded by club and others eg PL, McDs. They run (or at least have in the past and I don't see why it would have changed) all the visits to schools, including players, and all the kid's coaching courses which usually have players involved (Lee Bracey was the one on the keeper course I went on before, I've been **** ever since). It's effectively controlled by the club even if on the paperwork it's different people. The charity status will be to keep the books separate, presumably the outside funding doesn't count as revenue it means the money they charge for the courses etc can be kept in full (as revenue will be low enough they won't need to be VAT registered) and allows other benefits for that side of thing, like the business rates situation they're trying to exploit now.

Cheers. I'm out of my depth with this sort of thing, so I'm no doubt confused by whatever it is I can only vaguely remember. It could well be bollocks when/if I do remember it.

As mentioned last night, judge then observed any planning approval guarantee by HCC as requested in letter would have been illegal

EA: I do not think they would have come back and said yes. It was a political hot potato.

angus young ‏@angus_young61 8m8 minutes ago
EA: They were calling my bluff and I was calling theirs. I was taking a risk with my offer but I knew risk of council agreeing was low

Unchallenged evidence from HCC legal officer Ian Anderson that SMC tried to sell trampoline club's trampolines on ebay after eviction

QC: In effect, letter says if council provides funding the 3G pitch will not go in arena. EA: It was part of the PR, it wasnt genuine....

HCC QC: Who pays the rates? EA: SMC. QC: You are asking for rate relief on behalf of SMC? EA: The payments would be from the football club.

QC: You are asking the council to underwrite £850K to have the 3G pitch installed? EA: Potentially yes.

QC points out EA signs as vice chair of football club rather than SMC. EA: This is a response from the Tigers...

So we now have "part of the PR" to add to "it was a metaphor" as phrases Ehab uses when what he really means is "we're a pair of crooks who are getting pulled up on another lie we told".

In my simple mind, the situation should boil down to the Council pointing out the part(s) of the lease they reckon the Allams are in breach of, and the Allams arguing why that isn't the case.

The judge hearing the comments we've seen so far, must be wondering if he's dealing with a request to have them sectioned.

It's like reading a thread on here when someone realises they've got it wrong. He'll be telling the judge to lighten up, it was just a jokeor waving a picture of a fish on a hook next.

Is there any chance this could happen.....please.

For someone not keeping up with this too closely - what's the worst outcome that could occur here, from the club's POV? Would we be forced to lay a 3G pitch at Bishop Burton and return Airco to normal? Would that impact our Cat 2 status?

I don't see why. I would have thought having a 3G pitch at BB would be the sensible option.

I realise some on here will focus on the Allams, but the Council are coming out of this smelling of roses either.

This is not a defend the Allams message, this whole thing is starting to leave a nasty taste in even my mouth, it's a reminder the HCC are a bunch of ****s too.
