So its heavily subsidised and we're subsidising it. **** that. Though all the hand wringing tarts will carry on. No wonder they dont want to move.

ASSEM Allam has offered to sell the company that manages the KC Stadium and Airco Arena to Hull City Council for just £1.

The Hull City owner, who runs the Stadium Management Company (SMC), made the offer as he responded to criticism over the decision to evict a number of amateur sports clubs from the Airco Arena to make way for a new synthetic pitch.

More than 3,850 people have so far signed a petition organised by the amateur clubs calling on the SMC to reconsider its move.

Mr Allam told the Mail today: "The council can have it (the SMC) for £1, have it for the community.

"The whole site was meant for the community but the SMC loses money every year.

"The arena loses £250,000 every year.

"But we have contracts and we accept them with a smile. We have never complained. I have been accepting this every year."

Mr Allam also claimed it was up to the council to help the clubs involved move to other venues.

"Sports clubs in the community are the responsibility of the council, not the responsibility of one person," he said.

"I choose to take responsibility of the football club. You don’t force me to look after the whole thing. There are elected councillors for that, rates and taxes.

"You have Hull City Council closing down sports facilities and the East Riding are building, spending £7m on Haltemprice.

"Have these groups not spoken with Haltemprice or East Riding Council? They would rather have a go at me as if I am the one responsible."

The new £250,000 3G pitch will be introduced at the Airco Arena as part of plans to upgrade Hull City’s academy set-up. But it means grassroots clubs will no longer be able to use the arena on a regular basis.

Mr Allam argued it was essential to create the covered pitch to pass an audit demanded by the football authorities which, if passed, would see the academy rise from category three to two – a move seen as essential to developing home-grown talent.

“To change category we need a covered pitch," he said. "We are given until April for this, that’s all, otherwise we must wait two more years (before the next audit).

"Our academy costs me a fortune because we are category three. We spend money but we don’t get the funding that clubs do in category one and two.

"We must be category two for the good of the community, to bring up young players. I cannot carry on spending the money."

The city council has contacted a number of clubs that currently use the Airco Arena to see if alternative venues can be found.

The Mail understands the council has also written to the SMC requesting an urgent meeting over the issue. In the letter, the council has suggested an independent arbitrator should be appointed to look at the situation.
We should be building a statue of him. When he finally decides he's had enough of know nowts and never done owts crying all the time and stops funding everything he's funded, the penny might drop about how much he does and without him doing what he does, Hull is seriously ****ed.

I admire him more for carrying on despite all the **** thrown his way.

I hope he does say **** it now tbh, he deserves better than this ****. Naturally when everything comes tumbling down the usual ****s will still blame him. They remind me of Mackems and Brucie. No wonder they hold them up as super fans.

The SMC don't pay rent to the council. The council are supposed to get a rake off from any profit the SMC make but as they are subsidising every minority sport in Hull, including Hull FC to the tune of £1m a year ( and it used to be more) the SMC run at a loss.

Can you tell me how/where The SMC are subsidising Hull FC to £1m PA ?

Pot & kettle

"Why everybody talking to me as I carry the responsibility of the City? What about the people you voted for? Are they there for tea & coffee & lying & cheating & knocking down buildings & closing down sports activities

He should do stand up.

"I have never been a football fan," he added. "I am still not a football fan. I am a community fan." October 2014. Doesn't appear like it.

SO back to my original question...how/where were Hull FC subbed £1m by smc ?

Shall I couch my question a bit different for you
How as a man with Allams track record and business acumen managed to turn SMC from making a small profit to a sizeable loss in a few short years ? I suspect the answer and your point of reference is SMC accounts, the biggest work of fiction since the Bible

Do you know whether those losses can be offset against the tax liabilities of his company(ies)?

I wish the mods would keep up with ****s blaspheming and putting down religions.

Religion is supposed to be a total no no on here.

The decision is definitely not going to be reversed.

Though it's not quite as bad as it initially looked, the biggest user of the Airco is school football tournaments and they'll be allowed to carry on.

The club are now trying to help the evictees find alternative venues, the trampolining one seems to be the real headache as there's no obvious alternative.

The other FWG stuff should hopefully all go up tomorrow.

Doesn't that breach the rules of exclusive academy use?

If the schools can use it, I see no reason the trampolinists can't. It's not difficult to set out a temporary floor for their equipment. Obviously the basketball and stuff would have to move but I'm sure there's plenty of venues capable of hosting a basketball team. My old school could have done that.

I take it there's a financial element attached to this academy status ?
Who was the last City academy product who played more than a handful of 1st team games ? and will this indoor pitch and upgrade in status start a production line of Premier League stars of the future?

I've passed on the information to AircoforAll to see if they feel they have been helped.

I think part of the issue is the hazy line between the club and the SMC. Strictly speaking, the Club are the beneficiaries of an SMC decision. I wonder if the SMC have to show a net benefit to these changes?

Banging my usual drum, at least there's a concerted reaction and oopposition to these evictions. It's a pity we didn't do the same for ours Instead of shouting objections down.

Well take Mohamet to the Mountain then.

Not that I'm suggesting it, but Sunday afternoon outside the KC main entrance would be an ideal opportunity for AircoForAll and representatives
of the various amateur clubs to protest against the decision.
