Yes. He has had 9 games in which he has contributed to goals. 25 in which he hasn't. I'm not knocking him, I just think it'll take a good price to get him from us and I don't think he's done enough, often enough for anybody to give a good price.
I agree that the owners would want to cash in but they won't sell cheap and at this time I don't see anybody paying a decent fee.
Presumably he wanted out last summer, but no one wanted him. It's like Hernandez wanting out every window for the past few years. Unless someone is actually prepared to sign them on the no-doubt hefty wages they expect, they don't leave.
I'm surprised Hernandez is still here to see the end of his contract to be honest. Perhaps he'd probably have left in the summer if not for ****ing himself in the arse, but no pre contract signed abroad. Points to a desire to stay in England, think he'll be after another crack at the premier league.
I'm worried our now fantastic attacking options are going to be wholesale sold/recalled Wilson Hernandez Grosicki Bowen Which if any of these might be here next season?
Errr...non most likely due to the marvellous reducing effect on our wage bill (Abel), getting some money for them with a straight flow through to Allamhouse (Grosicki (wage saved as well) and Bowen (avoid large new contract as well)) and no ****ing chance (Wilson).
As it stands our team next season would be: Marshall ? Mazuch MacDonald Kingsley Stewart Henriksen Bowen Irvine/Toral Grosicki Campbell/Dicko/Keane So we'd have options up front and in the middle. No right back. Is Weir still under contract next year? Evandro? I won't count him as an option though because he'll be injured.
As things stand currently, these will be our contracted players next season... 2019 - Campbell, Fraizer (Plus 1 year option) 2019 - Evandro 2019 - Henriksen, Markus 2019 - Keane, Will 2019 - Marshall, David 2019 - Mazuch, Ondrej 2019 - Weir, James 2020 - Bowen, Jarrod (Plus 1 year option) 2020 - Dicko, Nouha (Plus 1 year option) 2020 - Grosicki, Kamil 2020 - Irvine, Jackson (Plus 1 year option) 2020 - Kingsley, Stephen (Plus 1 year option) 2020 - MacDonald, Angus (Plus 1 year option) 2020 - Stewart, Kevin 2020 - Toral, Jon (Plus 1 year option) 15 players and at least one of them will be sold, possibly two.
If all those stayed, and Larsson, Clark and Odubajo (assuming recovery) all got new contracts, it's not a terrible starting point. With Henriksen proving a lot of doubters (including myself) wrong, could Stewart do the same?
It's frustrating because he is too good for the division when he wants to be , he should be up there amongst the top goal scorers and top assists in the league
What's frustrating is how people give players a pass for most of the season. They cost the most money. I saw a quote from Brian Clough recently when he said football isn't about tactics it's about players. People will talk all kinds of stuff about tactics like that's what's clever but without players bothering with whatever role they are given it really doesn't matter. And motivation is apparently all the manager's responsibility as if these overpaid players don't have to have any motivation themselves.
Doesn't sound like there's much hope of him returning to us next season... Harry Wilson has caught the eye of Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp during his time at Hull City – and will be in and around the Reds squad next season. That’s the view of under-23s boss Neil Critchley who has watched the winger star on loan in East Yorkshire. https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/football/harry-wilson-jurgen-klopp-liverpool-1448140
Actually, our account t with Liverpool should be very much in the black.... We took Marcovich and made him a saleable proposition again. We sold Robbo for peanuts and took Stewart for Brazil nuts.... We took Harry Wilson on loan and probably saved them spending £15 million on someone who brings to the table what he does. So, who next. Ryan Kent... on loan at Bristol City...?
