Got this from a Forest fan, just to present the other side of the argument:

Adebola will do a good job for you, Rick. He won't start every game, but he's done a great job for Forest in coming on and turning round games that are going against us. Vastly underrated and I'm sorry to lose him, to be honest. No chance you could take Tyson instead?

Forest say they have signed him on a new 1 year contract.

There is a God.

Where did you pick that up from, I can't see any story about a new deal for him at Forest?

I read it on the forest thread posted above. It's just one guy claiming it but I hope it's true.

EDIT - Post " Just heard he's signed a 1 year deal to stay at Forest !

What the effin hell is actually going on ?? "

And therefore if we aren't signing him, you can take back your claim that the club lack ambition? <whistle>

No. I had that view anyway.

On the other hand, the majority of people praising Adebola never ever thought he would be a good signing until it was "confirmed" this morning. It was embarrassing to read.

And you're expecting marquee signings left, right and centre are you? You're perfectly entitled to your opinion, but just because we aren't signing/looking to sign the best players around doesn't mean we lack ambition. If we did lack ambition, then surely we wouldn't be making any effort to improve and add to the squad?

I'm not sure what you're reading, but 28 people have posted on this thread and there are three people's posts that could be considered to be positive, in that they included terms like 'he might not be terrible' and 'could be useful/could be useless'(Only MRH said he thought he could be a good addition).

So what was embarrassing?

seems like its me thats embarrassing....oh dear.....i still think that for the right price, he would be a good experienced player to bring in and play the same kind of impact as does barmby?

I'm not expecting marquee-signings, I'm just not expecting absolutely terrible last resort style signings at the beginning of the transfer window.

The fact there wasn't widespread condemnation. Duh.
who said that the club lacks ambition? It s just money that is in short supply

Me, I said that.

Why should there be widespread condemnation of us signing a guy who's spent most of the past 15 years playing at this level? Surely not everyone on this board is as thick as you?

Which, with us not signing adebola, going by your logic we haven't signed a terrible last resort style signing? The majority of the players we're interested in are decent players, the fact that other championship/lower PL teams are interested surely tells you that?

He's scored 5 times in 61 games for Forest, suggesting he probably won't solve our goalscoring issues. Added to that he's old.
