What makes me laugh is we've been complaining about not having anyone big to play alongside Fryatt because he's being handicapped by it. We 'sign' someone big and everyone says it's ok he's not brilliant because he won't play very often because we've got Fryatt, Simpson, and McLean ahead of him. Either:

1) He's going to play and it's a problem he's not very good.

or

2) He's not going to play and we're going to have exactly the same problem up front unless we sign someone else to do the job. If we sign someone else it's a waste of a signing to get someone his age to be backup when we should be looking for a youngster to learn from an experianced starter.

Just a thought but maybe just maybe After the days of Duffen and Bartlett we could now have a wage/transfer budget in place, maybe until Bullard, Olifinjana etc etc have left that wage bill we'l only sign players that our budget will let us, Sensible strategy maybe??

Alot of people are forgetting we paid fee's for Cam Stewart, James Chester, Joe Dudgeon, Cory Evans, Matty Fryatt, Aaron MCclean and have a 500k bid on th etable for jack Hobbs. Id be interested in how much all these transfers amounted too.

We may just of spent the bulk of out transfer budget on the above players, if so so be it im happy with the squad now compared to last season, and id be happy if we only signed freebies so long as Hull city doesnt start spending more than its income, speaking of which when does the Fifa financial fair play rule come in?

Well it has been stated by the management that we won't be splashing out on transfer fees this summer, so those of you thinking of £1m+ players can probably forget it. It'll be the frees where we make most of our moves. They'll have several targets for each of the positions that they want to fill and most (if not all) of those players will also be on lists for other clubs.

Regarding budgeting for wages, it has also been stipulated that Bullard will cost the club 20(?)% of the budget this year. That means he and Oli combined are taking up somewhere near 33% of the wage bill for the year. I should think shifting those two out is probably very high on the "to do" list right now and we'll probably bide our time in the market so that we don't waste all our powder on 1-2 players and end up with 5-6 last minute players from the "Plan H" list. It's going to be a long summer and it probably won't get going until July.

So how come it's not being reported anywhere else? Unlike The Sun to report anything factual, so it may be bollox.

Same, if it was announced on the sources mentioned that we had signed a more high profile player than Adebola i bet a lot of people would be airing to the side of caution a bit, until something official is mentioned i won't take anything for granted. I'm not exactly over the moon with the signing, but i'm sure he's been signed for a certain purpose and we have other irons in the fire. If this had been a signing by Brown/Duffen, i'd be worried, but i think we have other options available and the management team are aware of his age etc and know he should have a more limited role in the team. Last year Nobby was our first signing, a player at the end of his career who we all knew would be a bit part player, but we then went on to sign the likes of Koren, Simpson and got loan deals for Ayala and Gerrard so maybe this summer may take a similar shape (pattern wise, not still signing half the team in August!) I'm not ready to criticise the management team for a lack of ambition for one signing such as this at the end of May, like someone else said we still could get our expected targets in the coming weeks, in which case the Adebola signing if it happens will be less of a bummer. If we were to sign 7 players like Adebola over the summer, then it would be perfectly justifiable to criticise the management team of lacking ambition, but until we know who our other signings will be we can't judge things yet, and need to trust the management team in what they're doing.

That is the best post on this thread. If he has signed we got to give him chance, we've generally agreed that the KC crowd is too quick to get on players backs this season yet heres one thats being criticised before its confirmed hes put pen to paper. Perhaps other player targets might think bollocks to that I'm not signing for Hull City their fans are a right set of ****s.

It's a shame when they get so drunk, so early in the evening, next they will be :emoticon-0119-puke:ing up, then there will be :emoticon-0106-cryin before bed!!

It's sad, but it's a..........

No. I had that view anyway.

On the other hand, the majority of people praising Adebola never ever thought he would be a good signing until it was "confirmed" this morning. It was embarrassing to read.

not the only thing around here that is embarassing to read, continuously finding fault.. the Forest fans will surely know a lot more abt him than us. We're probably not signing him but from what I've read he isn't rated as poorly there as he is here. Something tells me the lad is quite useful as a taget man.
