He seems to have taken the whole thing with Villas-Boas rather personally, though. Various tweets about the situation (coming back when he's gone, not being able to say why he wasn't being selected, etc.) and has watched various Spurs games since he joined QPR. He turned up to sit in the away end for the Fulham game, for example. His tweet today would seem to seal the deal, too.
Hope you're not counting me among that mob! Okay, so I may be carrying a lighted torch, and - yes - I may well be carrying a length of hangman's rope and shouting "hang them! hang them!" but to make me out as little more than a torching-carrying-hangman's-rope-wielding-rabble-rouser would not be telling the whole story.
they were both guilty of disiplinery reasons ie trashing an executive box and attitude problems. both should never be allowed anywhere near spurs again
Haven't read most of the comments here but just to clarify, Benny has done his two finger salute sign in a couple of photos, I wouldn't read into this whole "3+2" malarkey many seem to be interpreting. Baring in mind Benny has been to many of our games this season, home and away, I think that alone shows he's still committed to Spurs. Granted the timing of his photo and the way he words things isn't great but I don't think he's tweeted with the intent on being disrespectful to Spurs. Ade's three finger salute sign is something I see a lot on my facebook timeline, so again, I wouldn't read into the supposed piss taking.
I think the photo was in bad taste but any disrespect was aimed at AVB not at Spurs. I think we need to listen to Benny's side of things before we jump to any conclusions.
We do have a recall option for Assou-Ekotto, according to random reports. Something tells me that Adebayor's fitness will miraculous sort itself out now, too.
They are probably past the point of no return before last weekend. But sadly Adebayor evaded the Tromso away game.
Seems we might all be guilty of trial by chatroom. So let's give these lads the opportunity to say their side before discarding much needed talent in our ranks. New beginnings and all that. We most certainly need a fully fit, motivated BAE. Everyone knows that if Ade pulls his socks up, he can be very useful. COYS!
None of us really know the full details regarding the ignominious departure of Assou-Ekotto to QPR. Just as we don't really know why there was a players revolt against Villas-Boas at Chelsea FC. I do however have my suspicions as to why some professionals view him as an inadequate man-manager (but that's for another day),. and maybe there was some justification regarding his early ousting from Chelsea. I don't think the finger signals displayed in the 'picture tweet' was meant as a derisory or mocking gesture aimed at the fans. In the eyes of many, Assou-Ekotto in particular was treated disgracefully by Villas-Boas,. 'why should he now have more regard for Villas-Boas then anyone else.'
I do think that some Spurs fans totally over react to things like this.it reminds me of the time when Ghaly got taken off and he threw his shirt down. Everyone was so quick to say how he was disrespecting the shirt and he should be never play for spurs again when obviously he was just pissed off at being subbed. I think that's a good reaction as at least he cared. It's pretty obvious with Rose being injured most of the season we are very weak in that area and people advocating we should just sell 2 players for something so trivial is stupid. Likewise with adebayor, we aren't scoring any goals so at least lets give him a chance in one of the competitions. It's not like he can do much worse than Soldado.
