Wasn't BAE known for generally not being passionate about Football, treating it just like a regular job, not having much to do with it once his "shift" is done? In that aspect it would make sense that he just enjoyed the best game of football (for the neutral) at the WHL in quite a while.
He seems to have taken the whole thing with Villas-Boas rather personally, though.
Various tweets about the situation (coming back when he's gone, not being able to say why he wasn't being selected, etc.) and has watched various Spurs games since he joined QPR.
He turned up to sit in the away end for the Fulham game, for example.
