    Too young for him really. Do have a great memory of booting Van Nistelrooy up in the air on instruction from people in the crowd though.

    True. And there were so many brilliant players who left far too soon; Ekelund, Berkovic, Mane, Bale...

    In all honesty, Franny was ****, but he was the ultimate 100% player. Think Shane Long in defence. His destruction of John Fashanu is a belter too (look it up if you haven’t seen it!)

    The Lallana comments weren't 3 months before he left. It was just over a year: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/22112980

    "I've been at the club since I was 12 and I can only see my future lying with Southampton FC," Lallana said.

    "I can't wait to work with the new management team and the lads to continue our progress in the Premier League. It was an easy decision for me with the direction the club is going in.

    "If someone was to say that I'd end my career playing for Southampton in the Premier League then I'd snap your hand off for it."
