He normally does some sort of presser or set piece interview after a window. I guess this was his preferred format for doing that this time around. I don't think it did any harm, though it was a bit thin on content and bland. But how much of that is down to the questioning?
The media rights thing was worth knowing, plus thoughts on the window and a bit of an indication as to where he sees us, but you're right there was nothing particularly headline grabbing on this occasion. He did seem to want to give the opportunity to provide feedback and raise issues, no matter how trivial, which I suppose is to be commended. A lot of owners just delegate and hide behind the club structure, so fair play to him.
I watched the q&a on the stream didn't seem any need for one in my opinion fair play to acun for doing it did seem hastily arranged and looked a few empty seats in the audience
Those things were interesting I agree. But if he'd done a Q&A in December just before the next window - I think that'd be more interesting and these things could have waited til then - and the bonus is we'd all know more about our squad. I'm not criticising him for talking to the fans - its something prior owners could have done more of - but I do think there's a time and a place so that it doesn't become less interesting each time he does it.
Perhaps. Maybe a big interview on the radio would have been sufficient, but then you lose that ability to gather feedback, which he did seem to appreciate with the concourse stuff etc. just a shame that suggestion about maybe club card points for drinks and merch more than an hour before kickoff to get people in early and spending seemed to get lost in translation.
If we're gathering feedback - maybe it doesn't need to be broadcast? The supporters committee meeting can do that - without the need to make a deal of it?
On paper Alzate looks an astute bit of business. 40 games in the prem and some games at a decent club in belgium whilst also some caps for a good south american country. Not only that but he can (hopefully) help Puerta and Zambrano integrate into the team if they don't speak the language but that I appreciate is a bonus. For the former points I look at the strikers currently available and non of them jump out as options that I feel would improve the team. The only one that would is Martial and he's way out of reach. If I'm wrong then I'll own up but I agree that given how the cards have fallen I would rather wait for them to look again in January for someone who improves the team rather than get someone to just make up the numbers. Alzate could be that but on paper it looks like when he's fit he could be a big time contributor
The club used to do a fans forum periodically, which is basically what this Q&A is but under a different name. Perhaps the way it's announced at short notice and talked about as an Acun thing rather than a club thing gives people a false impression of what it is. Personally I don't think there's a lot wrong with taking that opportunity to raise more minor operational issues with the club, in the absence of any real big issues to talk about.
Probably fair, but I struggle to criticise anyone for fronting up to supporters directly after what's gone before.
We bought two strikers, the main one has scored 2 champions league goals, 2 Europa league goals, and 25 goals and 5 assist in the Swiss first division.
He didn't want to fly today the 13th so came a day early, he also didn't want to look like a superstitious wuss so made an event to justify coming yesterday.
We'll win 3-0 tonight and they'll be from midfield or the wingers and people will then say who needs a striker.!!!
So you’ve perused every single free agent ?? Ye right It’s a **** up not getting a striker in the building FACT
And I’ve watched the ball bounce off him like hitting a concrete wall let’s hope he comes good This could be this seasons Kalman and a Center mid
I’ve looked at this list - https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/spi...klasse=&wettbewerb_id=alle&seit=alle&yt0=Show FWIW I agree that not getting the third striker in is a failure
Buying a house seems weird He would have to have people looking after it when he's not around Much better to stay in a hotel
Just remembered he did say we now have 7 Centre mids and brought Alzate as Something something mumble mumble Couldn’t make out what he said??? Anyone
