what's a Walter striker?
He has a quite specific set of requirements for his forwards, at least so we have been led to believe and why he didn't want the "change the dynamic" one that Tan alluded to earlier in the summer.
What like?
Never scoring
Never taking a lead![]()
Another horrid bit of squad numbering.
Same birthday as Mrs. Look Back In Amber, just 30 years later, hope she/he can cook an equally good Sunday dinnerSo did my youngest...

Sign two keepers this window. #12 and #13 both available all summer. Keepers given #31 and #22.
The two new wingers have been given #33 and #44 when #12, #13, #15 and #24 are available.

I don't think either Vipotnik or Niang are upgrades on what we already have in the shape of Bedia, Burstow and Kamara. It's nice to have numbers and resilience but we also need quality. We were going after Tom Cannon the other week, he's another one that I'm not certain would have been an appreciable upgrade on what we have already - scored a few on loan at Preston, couldn't get in Leicester's Championship team for much of last season.
Waiting for the next Delap is the way to go in my view. I'm disappointed we didn't sign that kind of player in August, but now the window is shut I'm happy to wait it out.

My point is though, he didn't have to come at all.he only had to come a day earlier
My point is though, he didn't have to come at all.
Was there a call for another Q@A?
Did he really have anything to tell us? 'We didn't get the striker, we wanted but.....' Did we really need to know that?
Even Tan Kesler looked pissed off when called up to answer question he couldn't shed any more news on.
I know he was looking for one, has he actually bought a house here now?Of course he did. He has a house here too so maybe wanted to spend a couple of days there, maybe meet the manager and his coaches socially. But he didn't have to spend one of the nights answering trivial questions about 'the tiger looks like a leopard and can i have points to spend in the club shop for buying a pint on the concourse.....' etc etc.
Sp credit to him for giving up his valuable time to tell us mostly what we already knew.
I agree. I ate my words a bit on the last Q&A because it was much better than the previous attempt.
But this one showed that there's little to say unless there's some sort of controversy. The transfer window ended up being...decentish? Not perfect but not abysmal.
But a lot of the players we signed we haven't really seen properly yet. Why wouldn't a new owner say a new player was good? He's hardly going to come out and say otherwise. Equally, he's not going to say much more than 'Walter is a good coach - he hasn't had the players yet.'
The most interesting things from last night came from Tan - that we are trying to find alternative locations for training grounds. Equally though - unless there's anything agreed with the council (or some sort of falling out) they aren't going to say anything new there either.
But at this stage of a season - just after the window has closed and with a fairly unknown squad - there's not much to say. I'd rather these events were limited to when there's some sort of announcement to make.
As you say,he didn't need to be anywhere near the Stadium last-night.He's probably decided to come over a day early(for tonight's match) and tied it in with other business and through curiosity he's decided to hastily arrange a Q&A to gauge the feeling amongst the fan base?My point is though, he didn't have to come at all.

Did more harm than goodAs you say,he didn't need to be anywhere near the Stadium last-night.He's probably decided to come over a day early(for tonight's match) and tied it in with other business and through curiosity he's decided to hastily arrange a Q&A to gauge the feeling amongst the fan base?
Ultimately,it proved to be a bit of a waste of time due to the calibre of guest and the calibre of their questions...I Suspect he won't be in any hurry to arrange anything in the near future.
Can't knock him for taking a couple of hours out of his schedule to speak to the fans and his enthusiasm can't be questioned but until such times as there's some real meat on the bone to pick at it's relatively pointless.
Did more harm than good
Our fan base looked like a load of free loaders to him
And I do think he did It to try and gloss over the no Striker and use his charm
It didn’t work
2 and a half months to sign a good striker and we didn’t do it
No amount of his charm will gloss that over
