Why rush a free agent striker who could be crap rather than wait till Jan and maybe a revisit a striker they missed out on was the jist. And I agree with him. The free agent options are free agents for a reason

There's actually some excellent striker options who are free agents at the moment and having put together what looks like a decent squad now, it seems mad to me to not have a proven striker to finish things off.

That was a shame tbh, a chance to ask about the apparent unrest over Tim's training regime, players sulking about not getting days off, the reasoning about not exploring the free agent market for a striker, etc but instead ya had a bunch of kids and horny 'cougars' talking waffle. I felt for the bloke tbh, at how cringeworthy that was

First point still sounds a bit 'made up bollocks' to me. Second point Acun covered. He said we'd rather wait and get the best option for the club in January, plus once seasons are under way, some players find themselves not playing at bigger clubs so it allows us access to players of a higher pedigree.

A lot of it really was cringeworthy, especially the buffoon rabbitting on about how when he goes for a piss on the half hour mark the bar staff are doing nowt and could be lining up the ale in anticipation of halftime. He actually said to Acun you must know approximately how much beer you sell so why not get it ready? Acun just looked bemused. What's he meant to say? He's in overall control of the strategic direction of football, he's not the ****ing catering manager. I switched off when another idiot suggested separate queues for drink and food. It was embarrassing.

Acun spoke really well (in a language that is not native to him, remember) when talking about recent activity on the playing side of the Club, you know, stuff you want an owner to actually have a clue about - you may not agree with what he said, but you can't fault his grasp on the footballing matters at hand.

The other trivial questions should have been vetoed. Someone should have told the dafties 'you're not asking that, you'll sound like a dick'.

School night, what were little kids doing there anyway....

Turns out we'd been looking at Alzate for some time. Sounds like Alzate himself had other offers but choose not to take them. Probably also hoping PL Ipswich would take him on. Seems to me like a pretty considered, logical signing, and as I stuck my neck out before saying, I think he's going to turn into a very important signing for us (when he's properly up to speed) and one that we've done well to get.

Regarding the striker, I can see the argument for a FA now, but I suspect that, having had something unexpectedly go pear shaped with a target this window, they have their eyes on a striker better than what's available now as a FA (as in a better fit for us, a better longer term option, etc) and are confident of getting him in January, hence not making a signing for the sake of it now. Maybe they believe that in January they can get the player that went pear shaped this window. If we didn't have Bedia, Burstow, plus other emergency options (Longman, TSF, Kamara, false 9's, etc) then I'd see it much differently, but we do, and what we have is really not that bad, especially compared to what we've suffered for so long (bar Delap).

As OLM says, it's a (very) decent squad now. Just needs time & patience. I don't get the negativity, suspicion, sniping, etc.

Any free agent at this stage would take over a month to get fit, unless they’ve been training with other teams.

I guess he was coming for the Blunts game, so he just came a little earlier than normal.
Of course he did. He has a house here too so maybe wanted to spend a couple of days there, maybe meet the manager and his coaches socially. But he didn't have to spend one of the nights answering trivial questions about 'the tiger looks like a leopard and can i have points to spend in the club shop for buying a pint on the concourse.....' etc etc.
Sp credit to him for giving up his valuable time to tell us mostly what we already knew.

Exactly, and one probably why someone like Dave Burns should have been hosting it.

The only questions that felt like were worth the time were probably the ones surrounding the stadium development but they really couldn't give too much info

Full credit for him for fronting up again, personally I don't see why he bothers. These Q@A sessions are as dull as ditch water at the best of times, unless the club is in turmoil and the fans want the owners blood. Otherside he flies in from Turkey to listen to people whinging about the service on the concourse and eight year olds asking for free away travel, even he must be wondering why he bothers and he looked bored to death, and he must have been wondering why there were so many empty seats.
So all a bit flat for me.
But I appreciate him taking the time to explain most of what we already knew to the few fans who bothered to turn out when he could have still been enjoying his honeymoon in a more exoctic location than HU3.
he only had to come a day earlier

€300k was always a ridiculous low-ball offer. If Trabzonspor offered us that for Tufan, who’s a similar age and was also in the final year of his contract, we would’ve considered it equally ridiculous.

Didn't we have an option on Tufan of an extra year or did I just imagine that?
