It's a hell of a strike force if they all stay fit.

    1. Lambert is settled here.
    2. He won't throw away a chance at the Premiership.
    3. We don't need the money.
    4. We don't want to sell.
    5. Blackburn's a hefty distance away.
    6. About 15/16 teams could get promoted, chances are they won't go up and he'll be stuck in the Championship.

Godders - I have to commend you on another good thread. Once I trawled past those who immediately lashed out with juvenile dismissive comments I was pleased to see that the article sparked some interesting debate. Many thanks - R_S. :emoticon-0150-hands

He'll still be here for the season, but think we'll cash in after this season and hopefully amiably, move on.

I believe that we need to make our version of 4-3-3 more fluid. I felt that v Wigan, JayRod and Guly played too wide all the time. This left Rickie exposed in the middle and surrounded by two or three defenders. It's still early and with a little more work to always create situations where we are hunting in pairs in the forward areas, it'll work.

great article St Godders, given we've bought another striker there is a good chance that someone will leave, but not likely to be Sir Rickie - he deserves his pop at the big time. Another good thing from the article it confirmed those who are intent on attacking those "old guard" posters who prefer not to indulge in childish insults - helping me with my new "ignore list"

St Godders, on another post I have seen your exasperation with the level of insulting behaviour from a small but vocal minority. Please don't give up on this Board, it will be a poorer place without you.

It's my opinion that I think everything you say is very stupid.

As you have said a few times, but not necessarily the majority on here feel the same.

Nobody, not even you or I, can write something stupid every time. In fact, if you could remove some of the strength from your posts you might come across more effectively as a useful and sensible poster. Whether we agree or not with what has been written is neither here or there. For your information I have sometimes read with interest and agreement a post or three of yours.

As for Rickie, I am hoping that he can provide us with a few memories of goals scored in the top league for a good while yet.

olddellboy's posts are getting as close to objective stupidity as you can though, hypocrisy the key feature. I don't know why some people (probably you included, I don't really know or care) think they're completely in the right and there's only one side to "the argument" but it's a very stupid thing to think. Commending Godders on the title of this thread, which is absurly provocative and more immature than an incredible majority of posts, is very stupid and hypocritical. But hey, he's old, so he must be right!

Can we keep on subject?, instead of moaning again. There is a O/T thread now and a debate thread you can have your daily fix of a moaning at other people.

Why would we sell Lambert?, we would be crazy if we did.

Blackburn look like they're about to sign Rhodes for £8000000. So looks like Rickie wont be going there. Villa also signed a striker from Chesterfield yesterday for £500K (although how much of a striker he is i'm not sure, 10 goals in 83 appearances at the lowest levels of the football league hardly suggests he's going to tear the premiership apart...)

Yep fine, olddellboy feel free to go praise Godders in the OT thread and see how far it gets :)

It's an interesting one... as you say his scoring record is terrible but he's physically very good. As far as I'm concerned it's another "not good enough" signing from Aston Villa.

I'm not complaining! When I saw their team sheet for the first game of the season my reaction was just "oooohhh.. really?" Definite relegation candidates unless they play out of their skins.

Ha ha I can go along with that.

Hopefully all of our buys this window will prove to of benefit to our club.

Mr Nice I can agree to disagree with comments from several posters without feeling the need to call them stupid. They may be wrong in their opinion but not necessarily that much. If that makes sense.
