    Ok Fez,
Have you seen the area where the banner is being placed? The club said that it needed to use a cherry picker in order to get it at the right height and this was a problem. Normally any large banner is supplied by the club. No one is happy that our banner has taken so long to be put up, but this is the first time a goal sized banner has been supplied by supporters and now steps are being taken to sort it all out.
Now it could be that the club and SMC are telling DMD a pack of lies and that there is no real intention to work with "us" on this, but at this moment in time it looks like the club do want this banner in place and they are trying to get it sorted. At the same time, how we proceed with getting supporters banners displayed properly by the club will be discussed.

Everyone must have seen the kop in full flow with all the different sized flags? I'm pretty confident in saying they all won't have had to get the all clear from the club to display them! They just turn up on match day and wave the f'kers.

Assuming you could get a 20' + flag into the ground, and manage to unfurl it, and could manage to somehow wave it, good luck with the discussions you'd have with the hundreds of people whose view you'd be blocking.

There are plenty of clubs including ours that have or have had huge flags passed around the crowd before kick off and at half time. If it really is so difficult to put the Bruce flag up in a fixed place, then this could have a temporary ( sp? ) solution. Better than doing nowt then claiming the cleaners had lost it, moved it or some other bullshit excuse.

This is different, the "In Bruce We Trust" banner is being displayed in the South East corner, hanging from the stanchions. There is a gap between the back of the seats and the outer walls of the stadium. It will be in one of the sections in the photo . The banner fills a section width wise. 8684084.jpg

As for passing a banner or flag round, we asked for the banner to be displayed and when it got taken down, the club offered to get it passed around, but as we all know, this did not happen. Why? we don't know, but this is something that will be sorted. Hopefully we will see flags being passed around the crowd more often as well more banners on display.

You know what, i've just realised who was defending the club all the time. Last week you were all so Mr Angry " i will send them an e-mail" then it's best to wait till after the transfer deadline and now this.
This was a real chance to build some bridges between fan's and club. The club has let the fans down in a big way so say so. The club could / should defend their own position there is no need for the fans to make excuses for the multi million pound business that is Hull City run by the great business man Mr Allam ( read my CV )

I'm not defending the club, there is work going on to get this banner displayed and as DMD has posted working with the club and the SMC is the only option, not only with this banner, but for the future.
If you think that anyone in the club would respond on deadline day to an complaining email about a banner, you must live on a different planet.

Could we not cut it into six pieces, edge the cut sides with Velcro, place one piece at each flag post, then, when the whistle blows for the off, all of the pieces are passed over the crowd to one common point , then put it together to the sound of the commencement of the 19:04 CTID chant? Could we get these hugely cooperative folk to play the countdown clock for the final 30seconds?

We only know that it was taken down, why, by whom, under who's instruction, is not known yet. Perhaps we will never know what actually happened for sure. It was put up wrong in the first place and efforts to get this corrected went badly wrong.

No... someone ( more than likely lots ) will complain your blocking their view. But do it before kick off and it will be ok.

As I posted, who knows what happened for sure.
Are you aware of the safety implications of velcro? Letting the unqualified and unsupervised public loose with velcro partitioned banners, is an accident waiting to happen. You scare me sometimes.

But think, if the pieces went together wrong (as if <laugh>) there could be a 'Chant what you see' follow up - think of the atmosphere the choir could develop.

Seriously, in 2010 (the last year when figures from the fastenings and fixings unit of DEFRA are available) 375 work days were lost through Velcro related incidents.
The highest cause of injury was from incorrect positioning whilst pulling the two elements apart.
There was one recorded incident were a participant in an inflatable velcro wall fun activity suffered truama when he became stuck on the wall and he had his leg pulled, much like yours is being now......

The story about the cleaners was most likely bullshit, and isn't in any of the versions I've had from those directly involved. The option of passing it round was discussed, initially as the first option, and then as a temporary measure, but not at a time that it would have been possible, and I still suspect other issues could have prevented it.

The option of several smaller flags was considered, but the concensus was for the large one we've got. Anyone wanting to, is obviously free to bring in their own smaller flags, subject to the long standing rules and regs.
