he won more free kicks than any other player in the prem last season, so quite a few thought he was good

Where has the 68k a week figure come from btw? I'm pretty sure we don't pay anywhere near that amount. Highest earner is Johnson and he's nowhere near that figure. (He's around 50k).

Smug, I completely agree with you. Sess is one of the best players I have seen in a Sunderland shirt (got hammered on here for saying it), it's an interesting concept that some of our fans have that you can build a good team by getting rid of our best players, I would have thought that to build a good team you need 15 or 16 good players then a couple of decent players to polyfill.

I strongly disagree. Fletcher and Mignolet were the two outstanding reasons we stayed up last year, one for his goal threat and the other for stopping the opposition. Sess has been nothing but a shiny trinket throughout all that time, generally offering little goal threat or creative spark.

In patches he has been unplayable but how man times? 2 or 3 memorable games last season and maybe 3 or 4 the one before in seasons we finished bottom half (4th bottom last season). I'm not saying it was all down to him but so much of our team set up has been based around accommodating him, only to find the main attraction fluffed his lines during games all too often.

Is that really a player that will be missed? Not by me.

There is no way I want rid of sess like people keep saying he is the most talented player in our shirt I have seen.that does not mean he is guaranteed his place every game infact no one should be.he is a valuable member of our squad and should be kept if all possible.PDC is building a team I HOPE and I do not want our bestlayers sold.add to the squad and give him competition for places. I know people want him sold and they think he does not fit into the changing team.there want to end the money on quality replacements but you will get a lot less player for the six million bantered about for sess.lets still build the team and keep sess and use him as and when required

I cant believe what I am hearing here, people are glad and almost celebrating selling one of our best players to ever wear a Sunderland shirt, he deserves far more respect than some people are giving him on here.

Fans show just as much loyalty to players as they do to fans, the club has shown no loyalty to our players this summer, which in its self is worrying so no wonder he has played poorly this season with no support from the club or management.

We wont replace him, we never do (Bent, Gyan). I still hold on to the hope he stays, fair enough he goes missing in games but he has never cost us a game.

Unbelievable, it's impossible to keep up with the expectations of some of our fans.

Unfortunately mate these players are professional footballers and are decent at their level, they would never play for a top four side but the did a job for us at the level we were at. We aspire to higher things so we moved them on, that's football.

Who else does offer a creative spark or did last season? Why isn't Johnson being ridiculed in the same way Sess is? People need to realise it isn't Sess' job alone to create everything for us. Last three games while he was suspended we were **** awful again. He is madly frustrating, but is being used as a scapegoat for our whole attacking woes, Sessegnon is a player in a team, he isn't the team in itself.

I'm pretty sure this is something we won't agree on, but the stick he is getting is ridiculous.

Cant believe so many people are happy about sess leaving. Anybody remember stoke and Southampton at home at the end of last season? We were shocking and had no creativity. Who was missing? Sess. We have been a much worse team in the games we have played without him in the last couple of years. People bemoan his inconsistancy. Frankly even when he is having a shocker he is still one of our 3 best players in the game. We are losing the most naturally gifted player I have ever seen in a Sunderland shirt and people are happy about it. Sorry lads I can't get my head around that. I agree there was a bit of a conundrum about where to play him but I put that down to him generally being surrounded by ****.

I think a lot of people's opinions have been swung by the drink driving thing. Yes he is a tosser for doing it but that doesn't take away from his footballing abilities. Something which he has 10 times more of than most of our current squad.

I hope altidore and fletcher works up top otherwise we could be screwed.

You speak some sense ........ not all, and you don't seem to understand punctuation, but I agree with much of what you say.

How many players are available, at that price, at this point in the window?

Is Huddlestone, who's averaged 10 games a season over 3 years, better value ........ another Cattermole we do not need.

Think everyone knows I loved the lad.

That said, after the start to the season he's made, and the DD incident, well I care about Sunderland football club.

I got over Marco & Kev, I'll get over this.

    **** me gently with a crowbar, (is that a cliché ? )

    Totally agree with you.
He was far and away our best player.
Did he have **** games of course he did, so does ****ing Messi and Ronaldo.
They can get away with it more as they are surrounded by OTHER good players.
The point about if they were here is very valid, I have on numerous occasions said about Sess taking out players and ending up isolated as he was the only ****er in the oppos half!
No surprise he ends up lashing the ball into row Z with no support around him.
If he has gone we have just lost our best player.
Even Sess on a bad day is ten times better than some of the others in our team.

I loved that conspiracy theory mind, that he went out and got drunk and drove, to force a move.
    Really?
I shall put that in my file with the moon landings were fake.

Sess has stated on numerous occasions how he is settled here and even moved his family here, when some were saying he wanted away because his family wouldn't come here.

    If he was drunk!
How about he was depressed at being forced out of a club he's come to love?

Makes more sense than he did it to get a move.

I wanted him to to stay until the incident, I don't mind admitting it. I don't hate him, I hate what he's done.

All comes down to this for me. Only an injury has kept Bardo at the club. But the simple fact is a professional standard has been set. Consistency has to shown right across the board. The second it isn't and it becomes one rule for one, and one rule for another is the second Paolo will lose the respect from the dressing room. The Squad will go into chaos and the season becomes a very very long one.

I can't believe it's up for debate. His pros and cons are completely irrelevant as there's now a rule of thumb whether we like it or not.

Of course I did. I also saw Hurley, Crossan, Clough, Quinn, Phillips, Shackleton, Rowell etc etc. They used to play well on a regular basis, not 2 or 3 a season.
You can add Hall to your list of dross
