Keeping Joe would be some achievement. If he only gets a one-year contract that means Douche will sell him in January though.
According to a report in the Express, Aribo met Bowyer this week and told him that he will be signing for Rangers. I’m afraid I’ve got zero enthusiasm for the new contract deal for Forster-Caskey, who makes Ben Reeves look like Billy Bonds.
Disagree on JFC, had one bad injury, not like he’s an Igor having constant niggles. Admittedly, a tricky injury to come back from
This is the crux of it. Hope we can trust Bowyer & Gallen to be objective about their decision if JFC is re-signed. We need him fully fit and hungry again. There can be no passengers in the Championship squad this season.
There has to be an element of risk after such a serious injury, but in our position (not being able to compete financially) I think it's worth it. We won't be able to buy anyone as good as JFC, and there's no word so far about Cullen or Bielik coming back.
I read on ITTV that Jake Forster-Caskey has signed a new 12 month contract. That is good news if JFC has fully recovered from his injury. I hope this re-signing is not going to be included in the "four or five" players that Lee Bowyer has said he is getting in by the end of next week. I'm glad JFC is staying as long as he can still play to his best (and I'll trust that LB believes he can) But this isn't a new signing - it's hanging on to what we still have.
I can’t get too excited about this one. Not in the same week we’ve let a genuine bit of midfield class in Aribo walk out the door for next to nothing. JFC will be a squad player at best in the Championship.
Yes it's shockin juss shockin that the owner's stupidity means we get next to nothing for him, but even if we'd got £3m for him it would have made no difference to Bowyer's budget. It never has before.
One step forwards, two steps back. Aribo was immense in many occasions last season. Creatively, he is going to be a massive gap to fill.
Dalmat on 1st July seems out best hope...and that he then gives Bowyer a half decent Championship budget. Otherwise it’s a Bottom 6 season at best.
Monentum from last season **** to pieces with the loss if all these players. Staying up will have to be seen as a success next season.
A lot of fans foresaw a car-crash season whatever division we were in, but now that the harsh reality is staring us in the face it looks like mission impossible. What is our midfield atm? Morgan, JFC, Fosu and Lapslie, no subs. Unprecedented in my experience for a club to be so systematically run down. And Jim White wants us to be joyous.
I had an exchange this afternoon on the number 1 Charlton forum. The guy basically said he accepted the s*** going on with everything, because we are in the Championship! I'm assuming he has bought a season ticket.
